Nicki Minaj Opens Up About Her Choice for Plastic Surgery: 'I Was Content with My Appearance'

Nicki Minaj, a 40-year-old rapper, deliberated on her choice of undergoing plastic surgery in the November 9 episode of "The Run-Through With Vogue" podcast, aligning with her November 2023 cover.
"I can assure you that if you make any alterations to your body through surgery or any other means, there is a high probability that, at some point in the future, you will reflect and realize that you were perfectly content with your original appearance," Minaj expressed to podcast hosts Chioma Nnadi and Chloe Malle. "This is exactly what happened to me. I was taken aback by certain photographs that I previously did not appreciate."
Minaj further divulged that during the initial phases of her career, she was dissatisfied with her own appearance.

"I disliked being skinny and having a flat butt, along with insufficiently perky breasts. It encompassed various aspects," Minaj expressed. "Reflecting on my past self, I realized I was destined to resemble that girl once more."
She went on, "The rationale behind my inability to revisit my previous pictures stemmed from my dissatisfaction with my physical appearance."
Now, Minaj adores her former appearance.
Although Minaj did not openly disclose the specific alterations she has undergone, she has confessed to receiving buttock enhancements previously. She informed Nnadi and Malle that becoming a mother has altered her perception of herself.

"I believe that my pregnancy may have had an influence on this realization, as seeing my son reminded me of who I truly am. It caused me to reflect on why I didn't fully appreciate this aspect of myself before, which seems strange. However, when I started looking at old photos again, I began to see the beauty in them."
Minaj gave birth to her son, whom she lovingly refers to as "Papa Bear," in September 2020, with her husband Kenneth Petty.
Nicki and Kenny, who had originally dated as teenagers and then reignited their relationship in 2018, exchanged vows in October 2019. According to a source, "Nicki is deeply in love with Kenny. Her feelings for him developed rapidly and intensely. It has been a while since we've seen her this genuinely happy."
