Lies of P director Ji Won Choi confirmed the development of a sequel and provided a sneak peek of the forthcoming DLC for the Souls-like game. In a video update, Choi expressed that their top priority is to develop the DLC and work on the sequel. The game has already achieved over one million sales and is also accessible through Xbox Game Pass. Choi emphasized the significant efforts put in by the development team, who are currently brainstorming and exploring various aspects of the project.
Regarding the DLC, Choi offered a glimpse of P, the protagonist, exploring an abandoned ship, hinting at what lies ahead. "I can assure you that what I just showed you is only the tip of the iceberg."
In addition to plans for the Lies of P sequel, the first game is set to receive a new patch later this month that will further enhance the Weapon Assemble system. Neowiz also intends to make the game more accessible in its initial stages by boosting base stats, providing extra Quartz materials for upgrading the P-Organ from Polendai's shop, and making the Rising Dodge move a default ability available from the beginning. Furthermore, a cosmetic update will allow players to wear glasses and hats separately. Additionally, Choi mentioned that the game's soundtrack will be released at a later date.
Regarding the future direction of the Lies of P sequel, the original game ends on a thrilling note. If you wish to avoid spoilers, it is advised to stop reading at this point.
Is the Terrible Dogfish lurking beneath the waters?
Upon completing the game or watching its ending on YouTube, it becomes evident that Neowhiz teases the possibility of Lies of P venturing into another well-known fictional universe that has entered the public domain. In the mid-credits scenes, a familiar pair of ruby-red shoes can be glimpsed, strongly suggesting that P might embark on a journey to meet the Wizard of Oz. Under Neowiz's guidance, this serves as excellent material for a sequel. With the inclusion of flying monkeys, wicked witches, and a tin man in need of oiling his rusty joints with blood, there is ample opportunity to infuse L. Frank Baum's fantasy series with a darker twist.
Naturally, we have a few other ideas for Lies of P 2, and we sincerely hope that Neowiz takes them into consideration. Let's imagine for a moment: wouldn't it be thrilling to see P engaged in epic boss battles against the likes of Ebenezer Scrooge, Mr. Toad, and Dr. Doolittle?
