An autopsy report obtained by Radar Online on Monday, December 4, revealed that Miller died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The report stated that the actor was discovered in his bathtub with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Additionally, traces of alcohol, ethanol, cocaine and its metabolites, diphenhydramine, and amphetamine were found in his system.

Former soap opera star Billy Miller’s cause of death has officially been revealed after he unexpectedly died on Friday, September 15.

Shortly after confirming his death on Monday, September 18, Patricia Miller, mother of actor Billy Miller, revealed he had "surrendered his life" after battling bipolar depression for years. In a statement to Soap Opera Digest, she expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from fans and friends in the wake of her son's passing. "He fought a long and valiant battle with bipolar depression. Despite his efforts to control the disease, he ultimately surrendered his life."

She continued, "The other reported causes of death are false. I wish they were true, but they're not. We loved him deeply and are struggling to cope with our loss. I won't be making any further statements. Thank you for the love and support."

Earlier on Monday, Us confirmed that Billy passed away at the age of 43 on September 15 in Austin, Texas. His representative revealed that he had been battling manic depression before his death.

Billy began his career as Richie Novak on All My Children in 2007 before transitioning to the character of Billy Abbott — the fourth actor to assume the role — on Young and the Restless. He earned three Daytime Emmys during his six-year tenure on the show.

“My parents didn’t have the chance to attend college, so it was difficult for them to accept that I had shifted from pursuing a degree in business to pursuing a career in film,” he told Soap Opera Digest in 2008. “My dad was initially shocked, but he eventually came around — and now he’s a big Texas guy who enjoys watching daytime TV!”

Billy appeared on Suits, Ray Donovan, American Sniper, Truth Be Told, and Ringer - where he acted alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar. Additionally, he starred on General Hospital from 2013 to 2019. Apart from his work in entertainment, he also owned multiple restaurants in Los Angeles.

After his passing, many of Billy's former colleagues expressed their grief on social media, mourning the loss of the popular soap opera actor.

"Still coming to terms with this," Chrishell Stause, who co-starred with Billy on All My Children, wrote on her Instagram Story. "Too many emotions, but you left us too early and I'm grateful for the years of working together, and even more grateful to have called you a friend. I hope you have found peace now."

Geller, 46, also paid tribute. “Rest in Peace Billy,” she wrote alongside an Instagram photo of the pair. “It was an honor to work with you but more of an honor to know you.”

Miller is survived by his mother Patricia, sister Megan, brother-in-law Ronnie, nephew Grayson, and niece Charley. His representative also mentioned that he leaves behind numerous friends and colleagues who will miss his warmth, generosity, and genuine kindness.
