The official website for the anime series I’m in Love with the Villainess announced on Monday, September 25, 2023 that the voice of Hinata Hyuga from Naruto, Nana Mizuki, will be joining the cast. This news has created buzz among fans, as the series already has an incredible lineup of voice actors. Mizuki is the latest renowned voice actress to be added to the cast, following in the footsteps of many others.
The I’m in Love with the Villainess anime series is an adaptation of the original light novel series of the same name, written by author Inori and illustrated by Hanagata. Initially conceived as a web novel by Inori and published on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website, the series was later transformed into a light novel in early 2019, featuring Hanagata’s captivating illustrations.
Naruto’s Hinata Hyuga gets a seemingly large role in I’m in Love with the Villainess anime series
As stated earlier, Nana Mizuki, the voice behind Naruto's Hinata Hyuga, has been cast in a prominent role in the I'm in Love with the Villainess anime series. She will be portraying the character Manaria Sousse, a princess hailing from the Kingdom of Sousse. With Manaria's regal title, it can be inferred that her role holds significant importance and is intricately connected to the central plot of the series.
The cast of the series features Yu Serizawa as Rae Taylor, Karin Nanami as Claire Francois, Aimi as Misha Jur, Ikumi Hasegawa as Lene Aurousseau, Sara Matsumoto as Loretta Kugret, Minami Kurisaka as Pipi Barlier, KENN as Rod Bauer, Daisuke Namikawa as Thane Bauer, and Yoko Hikasa as Yu Bauer.
Hideaki Oba directs the series at Platinum Vision Studios, while Ayumu Hisao takes on the role of both writer and overseeing the series scripts. Youko Satou adapts AONOSHIMO and Hanagata’s character designs for animation. Hajime Takakuwa serves as the sound director, with Noriyuki Asakura and Usagi to Uma composing the music. Serizawa and Nanami perform both the opening theme song, "Raise Y/Our Hands!!," and the ending theme song, "O.C. ~Optimum Combination~."
Inori's original web novel debuted on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in January 2018. GL Bunk began publishing the story in digital volumes accompanied by Hanagata's illustrations in February 2019. The fifth and final volume was released in August 2021. AONOSHIMO adapted the series into a manga, which premiered in Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime magazine in June 2020 and is still ongoing.
