Kimimaro was a shinobi from the Hidden Sound Village, taken in by Orochimaru. He was the sole survivor of his clan, and Orochimaru sought to harness his unique kekkai genkai, the Corpse Bone Chain.

The Corpse Bone Chain granted its wielder the power to control and mold every bone in their body at will. They could even extract bones from their body and wield them as weapons in combat.
