Feud: Capote vs. The Swans had a star-studded cast that left even Naomi Watts and Diane Lane amazed.

"I was blown away each day as I heard about new cast members joining," said Watts, 55, during an exclusive interview with We at the FYC red carpet event for the FX series in Los Angeles on Wednesday, May 29. The actress mentioned that she has "admired" some of her costars "for decades."

Lane, who is 59 years old, shared her agreement with Watts, mentioning that she still feels "very grateful" to be a part of the cast.

The show, which first aired in January, tells the tale of writer Truman Capote's friendship and subsequent rift with The Swans - a prestigious circle of socialites in New York City.

Watts portrayed the character Babe Paley, a journalist and leader of The Swans. Lane played the role of Slim Keith, who was famously married to director Howard Hawks and served as his inspiration for Lauren Bacall’s character in the movie To Have and Have Not. Joining them in the latest Feud installment were Tom Hollander, Chloë Sevigny, Demi Moore, and Calista Flockhart.

Watts expressed her excitement about filming the show, saying, “It was just wonderful.” She added, “It made so much sense because these women were admired in their circles and in their time, and it just worked. I feel very lucky to be amongst that group.”

Lane said that she wished on-and-offscreen friendships with casts would “be like this all the time,” seemingly referring to The Swans.

The legendary star described the women cast members as formidable, making the experience of working on the show extra delightful. She found the set to be fun, brave, and extremely glamorous.

According to Lane, it was everything she had imagined it to be. They maintained their focus while also having occasional out-of-body experiences where they realized how amazing it was to do what they love.

Feud: Capote vs. The Swans is the second part of Ryan Murphy's Feud series. The first series, Feud: Bette and Joan, came out in 2017. You can watch all episodes of both seasons on Hulu.
