Motivated by his father's relentless search for his mother, Rudeus decides to pursue admission at the Ranoa University of Magic. His decision stems from two primary reasons: to delve into the investigation of the teleportation incident and enhance his magical abilities. In addition, he secretly desires that attending the university might offer a potential remedy for his impotence.
The school presents a significant shift in routine for Rudeus, who has not attended school since his reincarnation. In addition to adapting to a fresh group of classmates, he encounters unexpectedly familiar faces from his past. The extent to which the school will transform Rudeus's life becomes evident as he progresses through his educational journey.
The Enrollment Test
Upon their arrival in Ranoa, Rudeus and Elinalise wasted no time in locating Jenius, who happened to be Roxy's mentor. Jenius couldn't contain his excitement upon learning that Rudeus planned to enroll in the university. However, despite receiving an invitation, Rudeus still had to undergo a brief magical assessment to showcase his abilities. He was escorted to a unique venue where he found himself face to face with Silent Fitz, a fellow student renowned for casting spells effortlessly, without the need for incantations. Surprisingly, Fitz recognized Rudeus disguised as Sylphie, although Rudeus failed to recognize her. This was mainly due to Sylphie's altered hair color and her eyes being concealed behind a pair of glasses.
The duel commences and Rudeus activates his demon eye. Anticipating Fitz's movements, Rudeus disrupts his spellcasting and retaliates with his own magic, emerging victorious effortlessly. Nevertheless, a concern arises within him that he may have humiliated Fitz, prompting him to swiftly extend an olive branch by assisting him to his feet. With his exceptional display, Rudeus successfully passes the test and is acknowledged as an official student of the prestigious Ranoa University of Magic. As a special student, Rudeus is exempt from attending classes or paying tuition fees and is granted the freedom to pursue any reasonable research or activity of his choosing.
Rudeus's First Day
Rudeus gets ready for his first day at school, joined by Elinalise who impulsively decided to enroll to flirt with the male students. They make their way to the main hall, where Princess Ariel, the student council president, delivers a speech. She is accompanied by her loyal retainers, Luke and Fitz. Despite his usual skepticism, Rudeus can't help but admire Ariel's charm. At the same time, he's concerned that Fitz still holds a grudge against him for their previous duel.
Once the speech concludes, Rudeus makes his way straight towards his homeroom, a mandatory monthly attendance for him. It is within this space that he encounters fellow students who enjoy the same privileges he does. Instantly, one student, the image-conscious Zanoba Shirone, recognizes him and expresses sheer delight at attending school alongside his mentor. Regrettably, the other students seem less impressed, yet Rudeus diligently makes an effort to courteously introduce himself to each of them. Eventually, his classmates reveal their names as Linia, Pursena, and Cliff Grimoire. Of these, Linia stands out as a member of the Dedoldia tribe, the daughter of Gyes, and the niece of Ghislaine. Additionally, Zanoba discloses the existence of another exceptional student, known only as Silent, who has no obligation to attend homeroom.
Befriending Fitz
Following homeroom, Rudeus explores the school grounds and its diverse facilities. Eventually, he finds himself in the vast library, fully engrossed in his investigation of the Fittoa Teleportation Incident. Although secretly hoping for a solution to his impotence, Rudeus is determined to uncover the truth. While aimlessly wandering amidst the shelves, he unexpectedly encounters Fitz, who expresses astonishment upon discovering Rudeus' involvement in the incident's research. Rudeus confesses that the incident has deeply affected him on a personal level and that he remains steadfast in his pursuit of his childhood companion who still remains missing. Before parting ways, Fitz kindly imparts some valuable advice to Rudeus.
Later, Rudeus shares a meal with Zanoba, and they discuss their plans to collaborate on figurine-making. During their conversation, Luke approaches them, introduces himself, and subtly criticizes Rudeus for his forgetfulness. After Luke departs, Zanoba reveals more details about Ariel's circumstances, explaining that political machinations compelled her to study abroad. Furthermore, Zanoba informs Rudeus that Fitz, Ariel's capable and powerful bodyguard, is accompanying her.
Rudeus persists in investigating the teleportation incident, but his progress remains minimal. Returning to his room, he unexpectedly catches a pair of floating panties. However, his innocent attempt to grab them leads to false accusations of theft, specifically aimed at stealing the princess's underwear. Despite his efforts to explain, Rudeus finds himself trapped until Fitz intervenes. As it turns out, Fitz had accidentally dropped the panties, and his appearance frightens the accusers enough to make them flee. Grateful, Rudeus expresses his appreciation to Fitz, admiring his kindness and generosity. In return, Fitz drops subtle hints about his true identity, yet refuses to disclose the complete revelation to Rudeus.
