The episode commences with a glimpse into Sylphie's everyday regimen. Each day, she kick-starts her routine by embarking on a brisk jog throughout the town, acquainting herself with the intricate web of streets, pathways, and alleys while ensuring she remains incognito, evading any recognition as Fitz. Next, she attends Princess Ariel's classes, although she frequently finds them uninteresting since she has already absorbed most of the course material from Rudeus. Nevertheless, she cheerfully lends a hand to Ariel, readily assisting with any queries that arise.

As Fitz, Sylphie accompanies Ariel and Luke on a stroll through the bustling streets of Ranoa. Engaged in conversation, Sylphie suddenly recalls that Luke is, in fact, a relative of Rudeus. Observing his flirtatious nature, she contemplates whether Rudeus might succumb to the same tendencies, even if he ties the knot. Swiftly arriving at a conclusion, she envisions that he will, taking into account his father's similar behavior. That evening, Sylphie reflects on her connection with Rudeus, pondering the possibility that she might desire something beyond their current relationship.

A Shocking Tragedy

Meanwhile, Rudeus has been making excellent progress in nurturing Julie's growth. He has successfully imparted some Human words to her and taught her the art of casting spells silently, just like himself. To Rudeus's surprise, Zanoba has developed a close bond with Julie as well, treating her as though she were another student. Fuelled by his enthusiasm for sculptures, Zanoba decides to acquaint Julie with Rudeus's craftsmanship by showcasing a few of the figures Rudeus has meticulously created over the years. Curious about the Roxy figure he had gifted Zanoba, Rudeus queries him, but Zanoba desperately evades giving a straightforward response.

Failing to deceive Rudeus, Zanoba surrenders and unveils the shattered Roxy figurine. Rudeus becomes immediately furious, but Zanoba quickly clarifies that he was coerced into a duel with Linia and Pursena, during which he had to bet his most prized possession. Unfortunately, he lost, resulting in the destruction of the figurine. Recognizing Zanoba's innocence, Rudeus redirects his anger towards Linia and Pursena and confronts them at school the following day. Provoking them, Rudeus engages in a fight and effortlessly defeats them using a combination of martial arts and magic. He swiftly immobilizes them and transports them to his room, bound in sacks.

In his room, Rudeus confronts the girls once again, questioning why he even bothered to engage in conflict with them. Confused, they fail to comprehend why Rudeus is so enraged with them. Rudeus promptly presents the ruined figurine, emphasizing that Roxy held immense significance to him. To everyone's surprise, he even reveals his secret shrine dedicated to Roxy, unsettling the room's occupants. Grasping the intensity of Rudeus's fixation, Pursena and Linia begin accusing one another, while Rudeus and Zanoba continue to express their frustration over the damage done to the statue. Amidst the chaos, Rudeus realizes that he can easily repair the figure on his own, thus realizing he lacks a suitable punishment to impose upon the girls.

A Proper Punishment

Mushoku Tensei Season 2: Rudeus Unleashed

Rudeus consults Fitz regarding the situation, revealing all that had transpired. After processing the initial shock of Rudeus keeping two girls confined in his room, Fitz agrees to assist him. Rudeus and Fitz return to his room, only to discover that Linia and Pursena were left unattended for so long that they accidentally wet themselves. After aiding them in cleaning up, the girls agree to recognize Rudeus as their leader, addressing him as "Boss." However, Rudeus doesn't feel genuine respect from them, and Fitz shares the same sentiment.

Deciding to discipline them, Fitz employs magical paint to decorate their faces. He explains that the paint becomes permanent through an incantation, which he threatens to use if Linia and Pursena fail to obey Rudeus. Furthermore, he promises to remove the markings after they have worn them for a day. As Linia and Pursena depart, Linia inquires about who taught Rudeus how to fight. In response, Rudeus mentions that Ghislaine, who he discovers is essentially Linia's aunt, served as his mentor. Upon learning this, the girls seem to develop a newfound admiration for Rudeus and retire for the night.

Fitz remains in the room. Rudeus inquires about the specifics of the magical paint he had used. Fitz confesses that his previous claims were false and that the paint could actually be easily and swiftly removed. Spending more time together, Rudeus becomes intrigued by Fitz's perpetually concealed face behind sunglasses. Fitz offers to reveal his face to Rudeus but ultimately decides against it, stating that Ariel had given him instructions to keep it hidden. Following this, Fitz departs from Rudeus's room, leaving Rudeus to grapple with his conflicting emotions towards Fitz.
