How to Craft Steel Ingot In Return To Moria
As players make their way through Return To Moria, they will eventually arrive at the Elven Quarter. Here, they will discover a treasure trove of new items, materials, and recipes waiting to be unlocked. However, accessing these rewards requires the use of improved steel tools. One such tool that is absolutely vital for players to create is the steel pickaxe. This tool is indispensable for breaking up the compacted dirt that stands in their way, granting them access to the Mines of Moria. In this guide, players will learn how to unlock the coveted steel ingot recipe and master the art of crafting it in LotR: Return To Moria.
Steel, an upgraded version of iron, does not require any additional materials for its production. However, players must first discover the Great Forge in order to unlock the recipe. The good news is that this can be accomplished as part of the main quest. As players progress, they will come across compacted dirt that cannot be broken with a regular pickaxe. It is at this point that the objective to Ignite a Great Forge will appear.
To use the Great Furnace of Narvi, players must first repair it. To do this, they will need to acquire replaceable parts that can be found in the same location. One of these parts, the Replacement Crank, can be found to the right of the forge near the stairs. Once obtained, the Replacement Crank must be inserted into a gadget located directly in front of the forge, which features a large gear.
Next, players must locate the Replacement Gear which is positioned on the opposite left side of the forge. Adjacent to the spot where the gear is located, there is a narrow passage through which players can enter. Upon ascending the stairs, players will come across the designated area where they need to insert the gear.
Similarly, the Replacement Pipe can be found by accessing the passage opposite the forge. However, players should be aware that there will be a Goblin Man present in that vicinity, necessitating the need to either defeat him or stealthily bypass him in order to obtain the pipe. To insert the pipe, players must venture into the passage on the opposite side where they previously inserted the Replacement Gear. It is not possible for players to directly jump to the location where the pipe should be inserted while holding the pipe. Hence, they must throw the pipe to create a platform, and then proceed to jump in to finally repair the Great Furnace.
Players can now access the Great Furnace to activate it, resulting in the immediate unlocking of several new recipes. These recipes include steel ingots and a steel pickaxe. For 1 steel ingot, players require 3 iron ores, 3 coal, and 45 seconds.
Lord of the Rings: Return To Moria is currently accessible on PC. The PS5 version is scheduled to release on December 5, while the Xbox Series X and S version is slated for early 2024.
