Lord of the Rings: Return To Moria, developed by Free Range Games, invites players on an exciting journey through the once-grand Dwarven city of Khazad-dûm, now a desolate ruin. Exploring the Mines of Moria, players will discover a plethora of valuable resources, including precious metals like iron and gold, as well as a variety of gemstones, including the coveted Black Diamonds.
Buried deep within the depths of LOTR-Return to Moria, these Black Diamonds are guarded by Orcs who are captivated by their exquisite beauty and immense power. These precious gems serve as indispensable tools, allowing players to craft and restore Map Stones, essential for swift travel and unlocking new areas of this realm.
Where to Find Black Diamonds in LOTR: Return to Moria
Listed below are the different ways players can find the rare Black Diamonds in Lord of the Rings: Return To Moria.
Looting Orkish Chests
Orkish Chests, found within Orc Camps, offer the most reliable method of obtaining Black Diamonds in Return to Moria. These camps can be found scattered throughout the Mines of Moria, with unique camp locations tailored to each player thanks to the game's procedurally generated world.
To access the contents of an Orkish Chest, players will require an Orc Key which can be easily acquired by breaking the wooden totem positioned next to the chest using a pickaxe. Once the totem is destroyed, any surrounding Orcs and Goblins will instantly vanish, allowing players to swiftly open the Orkish Chests without unnecessary combat. Each Orkish Chest typically yields 1-3 Black Diamonds.
The contents of these chests differ depending on the specific area of Moria the player is in. In the Western Halls, Orkish chests may contain Black Diamonds. Exploring the Orc Town increases the chances of finding multiple Orkish Chests that hold Black Diamonds. However, it should be noted that Orkish chests found in the Elven Quarters do not contain any Black Diamonds.
It is worth mentioning that Orc Camps and Orkish Chests do not regenerate in the same spots.
Defeating Bosses
One effective method of obtaining 10+ Black Diamonds at once is by defeating the Orc Bosses that can be found in the depths of the Mines and the Orc City. Moreover, players can also take on the formidable enemy boss, Bolgakh, in order to receive Black Diamonds as a reward.
Horde Events
Another method, although not guaranteed, to farm Black Diamonds in Return to Moria is by triggering horde events. Engaging in mining activities and creating noise is the simplest way to initiate these events. By defeating all the enemies that spawn, players have the chance to obtain 0-3 Black Diamonds per event.
Lord of the Rings: Return To Moria can be played on PC. The PS5 version will be released on December 5, while the Xbox Series X and S version is expected to come out in early 2024.
