The campaign of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is currently accessible to those who preordered the game digitally. As a result, players are actively engaging with the game and sharing video content of the story mode.
Please note that this article contains significant spoilers regarding the campaign of Modern Warfare 3.
As previously speculated, the game includes a mission reminiscent of the controversial "No Russian" level, in which players participate in a terrorist assault that results in a devastating loss of life. During this mission, the main antagonist, Makarov, orchestrates an attack on an airplane together with his accomplices. Remarkably, they manage to bypass airport security without any obstacles and proceed to their designated gate for the 6:45 PM flight to Sochi, Russia. The screen briefly fades to black and then transitions into a cinematic sequence depicting the aircraft filled with passengers, including men, women, and children, many of whom are Russian nationals.
Coercing a woman named Samara, who was formerly affiliated with a military group opposing Russia, Makarov compels her to transport and ultimately detonate a bomb aboard the plane. This particular scene unfolds from Samara's point of view, immersing the player in a first-person perspective. Makarov forcibly directs her towards the rear of the aircraft, attaching the bomb to her chest and placing a pistol in her hand against her will. Despite protesting her innocence and asserting that she is not a terrorist, her appearance grasping the bomb and firearm merely reinforces the notion of her being one, as stated by one of Makarov's henchmen. Desperate, she implores the other passengers to aid her in defusing the bomb, but due to their belief that she is indeed a terrorist, they physically assault her. The tragic outcome becomes inevitable as the bomb ultimately detonates.
Makarov and his team of villains successfully flee from the aircraft using parachutes. Tragically, the explosion claims the lives of everyone aboard. According to a news report, the plane's crash appears to be under questionable circumstances. Task Force 141 is assigned to investigate the crash site and gradually uncover the actual events leading up to the tragedy.
Earlier, an Infinity Ward developer hinted in a now-deleted tweet, as seen by Our Website, that Modern Warfare III may introduce an engaging terrorist mission where players can actively participate. It is probable that the airplane sequence featured in Modern Warfare III is the mission referred to by the developer.
The No Russian mission in Modern Warfare II, released in 2009, sparked controversy. Similarly, this particular sequence in Modern Warfare III is expected to generate debate and controversy. Before the release of Modern Warfare III, an earlier trailer strongly hinted at the inclusion of an airplane terrorist attack mission.
The No Russian mission not only divided fans, but also caused internal conflict among the developers at Infinity Ward. Some felt that the sequence crossed the line in its portrayal of extreme violence, which was particularly unsettling considering the prevalence of mass shootings in real life.
In both the original 2009 game and its remastered version, players receive a cautionary message regarding "offensive content" and are provided with the choice to skip the entire mission. However, it seems that the new mission in Modern Warfare III does not offer players the ability to skip the airplane sequence or provide any warning regarding its content.

As an enthusiastic fan of the Call of Duty franchise, I am thrilled to see the return of a mission similar to the controversial "No Russian" level in Modern Warfare 3. The mission, which involves participating in a terrorist attack on an airplane, is both intense and thought-provoking. While some may find it disturbing or even offensive, I believe it is an important and powerful statement about the horrors of terrorism.
The mission is particularly effective in its use of first-person perspective, which puts players in the shoes of the terrorist. This allows us to experience the attack from their point of view and to understand the motivations behind their actions. It is a powerful reminder that terrorism is not just a faceless evil, but a real and present danger that affects us all.
Overall, I believe that the "No Russian" Redux mission is a powerful and important addition to Modern Warfare 3. It is a reminder of the horrors of terrorism and the importance of fighting against it. While it may be disturbing to some, I believe it is an important and necessary experience that will stay with players long after they finish the game.
