A Fallout 4 player dedicated their efforts to revitalizing The Castle, one of the many Settlements in the game. Despite facing constant threats from invaders, this fan chose to focus their attention on The Castle specifically.
The Castle, also known as Fort Independence, is a location that players encounter quite early on in the gameplay of Fallout 4. Unfortunately, it has been overrun by Mirelurks, mutated creatures native to the Boston area. Prior to the invasion, The Castle served as the headquarters for the Minutemen faction in Fallout 4. In order to claim The Castle as a Settlement, players must first defeat the hostile enemies and construct a functioning radio tower. Given the significance of the Minutemen faction in Fallout 4, this player's extensive makeover restored The Castle to its former glory.
A Reddit user, Sirbalz, recently shared a screenshot showcasing their impressive version of Fallout 4's Castle. This Settlement features two Fallout 4 Vertibirds in the foreground, providing a sense of scale. Situated on the Boston coast, Sirbalz cleverly incorporates the pentagonal shape of The Castle into their Settlement. The design of Sirbalz's Fallout 4 Castle includes multiple layers, with a noticeable central pillar visible from afar. Each point of The Castle is marked by a tall tower, almost reaching the middle of the structure at its peak. Interestingly, one of these towers is home to a third Vertibird, which appears to be a permanent fixture unlike the other two.
It is apparent that Sirbalz did not use the pre-made Fallout 4 build options for their towers, as they seem to have individually crafted each one. Surrounding The Castle, there are essential resources such as food for the Fallout 4 Minutemen settlers. On the inside, there is a workshop located on the lower level, with only the standard Castle floors accessible without utilizing a flight cheat. The height of Sirbalz's Castle surpasses that of the structures intended by Bethesda for Settlements, making it quite impressive. Although Sirbalz only mentions the use of a mod that removes settlement building limits and Place Everywhere, it is implied that additional mods were employed to create their base.
Sirbalz did not provide details regarding the number of materials needed for the makeover. It is possible that they utilized a modification to obtain the required items. As stated by Sirbalz, it took precisely 24 hours to complete the Castle makeover. Additionally, the use of Fallout 4 console commands can further streamline the Settlement building process. Fallout 4 is currently accessible for PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms.
