A Stardew Valley player has amazed fellow fans by achieving a million gold without ever leaving their farm. This impressive accomplishment exemplifies the self-imposed challenges that players undertake within the open-ended game using the tools at their disposal.
While Stardew Valley typically encourages players to partake in various activities both on and off their inherited farm, such as exploring the town, forming friendships with the locals, and engaging in activities like mining or fishing outside of the farm, this example demonstrates that participation in these opportunities is not mandatory.
Stardew Valley player hiimdbn shared their impressive accomplishment on the game's subreddit, showcasing images of their farm and discussing how they managed to earn a million gold without ever leaving their home. This feat took hiimdbn a total of seven years on the farm. Choosing the Four Corners farm layout enabled the player to explore various methods of earning money and creating new items.
According to hiimdbn, the majority of their time was devoted to cultivating Stardew Valley mixed seeds for profit. On the Four Corners farm, cutting down unique weeds resulted in the collection of mixed seeds, which could be planted to yield different crops depending on the season. Additionally, a section of the farm contained rocks that players could mine for ore, which eventually allowed hiimdbn to acquire sprinklers, significantly boosting crop maintenance efficiency. Over a span of five in-game years, they earned approximately 700k in gold from the sale of random crops. Afterward, they began mining for gold, enabling the development of a seed machine. This machine rapidly produced new seeds for any chosen crop, greatly expediting the earning process.
Although the Four Corners farm is well-suited for this purpose, there are drawbacks to never venturing beyond its borders. For instance, despite having a pond on the farm, the player never had the opportunity to meet Willy and obtain a fishing rod. Fishing is a highly profitable activity in Stardew Valley, but this limitation prevented them from taking advantage of it. Additionally, the inability to upgrade tools proved to be a major inconvenience. Ultimately, it took the player nearly 40 hours to accomplish this feat, so those interested in undertaking a similar challenge should be prepared to dedicate a significant amount of time.
Stardew Valley is currently available for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
