Atlus' upcoming strategy RPG, Persona 5 Tactica, has indirectly revealed a new playable character. The game was initially announced during the Xbox Games Showcase, alongside the Persona 3 remake. Its first trailer unveiled that this spin-off would take the Phantom Thieves to a completely new world. In addition to the familiar group from the original game, there will be a variety of new characters, including new villains, allies, and the leader of the revolution, Erina.
Erina, described as a leader with a strong sense of justice, is introduced as the one who saves the Phantom Thieves from a new villain in a white dress. She then enlists their help to return to their own world. Persona 5 Tactica was recently showcased at the annual Los Angeles Anime Expo, featuring a new character spotlight trailer that briefly revealed another new character in the game.
A sharp-eyed YouTuber, Faz, discovered a new character named Toshiro in the game's key art and gameplay trailer. The mission objective on the game's UI confirms Toshiro's name and instructs the player to guide him to the exit. Though dressed as a butler, it is unclear whether Toshiro serves Erina or another character.
The character spotlight trailer showcases the abilities of Joker, Morgana, and Erina. Players are limited to bringing three members of the PTs into battle at a time. Joker excels in long-range combat and possesses Persona skills. Morgana possesses the power to overwhelm enemies, making it easier to disable them and break their cover. Erina specializes in dealing high damage and can target multiple enemies with her weapons. Additionally, she can deploy her flag to stun enemies while simultaneously healing allies.
This butler character named Toshiro may receive further development, potentially serving Erina or aiding the revolution in non-combat ways. Additional information is expected to be revealed as the game approaches its November release, through character spotlight trailers highlighting other members of the Phantom Thief group such as Queen, Panther, and Fox.
Persona 5 Tactica is set to be released on November 17 and will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
