Asajj Ventress Is Name-Dropped In Ahsoka Episode 7

In the opening scene of Ahsoka episode 7, Ahsoka Tano engages in a training session to sharpen her lightsaber skills in preparation for a rematch with Baylan Skoll. To guide her, she relies on a holovid recording created by her master, Anakin Skywalker, during her initial training in the art of Djem So. This particular lightsaber form proves highly effective when facing off against other lightsaber-wielders. As the training session unfolds, Anakin's recording, presumably from the early days of the Clone Wars, includes his belief that Ahsoka will likely encounter formidable opponents such as Count Dooku, General Grievous, and potentially even Asajj Ventress.

Asajj Ventress, once Count Dooku's apprentice, originated from unused concepts for a female Sith Lord during the development of Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. Ventress eventually emerges as a significant antagonist in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, cunningly manipulated by both Dooku and Palpatine, only to be ultimately betrayed by them. Notably, Anakin Skywalker's holographic message marks the first-ever live-action mention of Ventress in the Star Wars universe.

Ahsoka Is Honoring Clone Wars As Well As Rebels

Ahsoka is Dave Filoni's inaugural live-action television series, serving as a tribute to both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. The latter connection is evident as Ahsoka's cast and characters include several beloved heroes from Star Wars Rebels, and the central storyline stems from the finale of that show.
