Momoko's latest story delves into the intriguing world of Ankok, a cult devoted to a deceased Sith Lord. Her unique perspective on the concept is quite fascinating. "I wanted to explore the idea of a cult and within the Star Wars universe, the dark side seemed like the perfect catalyst for individuals who have lost themselves and seek solace in a belief system to find hope and purpose in life," Momoko explained. She firmly believes that succumbing to the dark side is not something to be ashamed of; in fact, it can be a means of salvation. Sometimes, embracing the dark side can aid in overcoming trauma and fear. In Ankok's narrative, their belief is that the era of light triumphing over darkness has come to an end. It is now the time to accept the darkness, and cult leader Tata utilizes the dark side to provide a "dark light" to those in need.

Momoko is no stranger to the world of Marvel, having previously created what she calls the "Momoko-verse" in 2021. This unique series of comics showcases her reinterpretations of various Marvel heroes through the lens of Japanese folklore. Additionally, she recently contributed to Star Wars: Darth Vader – Black, White & Red, an anthology of stories centered around Darth Vader.
