Megan Thee Stallion Drops New Track 'Cobra' Alluding to Ex Pardison Fontaine's Infidelity

Is it time to start using snake emojis for Pardison "Pardi" Fontaine after listening to Megan Thee Stallion's new song "Cobra"? Megan, who is 28 years old, released her first song since leaving her previous music label on November 3. In "Cobra," she opens up about the emotions she has been dealing with recently, including a particularly difficult moment. She raps, "Damn, I have problems. I never thought someone like me would hit rock bottom. I miss my parents. I am constantly anxious and always canceling my plans. I caught him cheating, getting oral sex in the same bed I sleep in. Lord, give me a break. I don't know how much more of this I can handle."

Although Megan did not explicitly mention Fontaine, 33, in the track or the snake-themed music video, many of her fans, known as "Hotties," speculated that it was referring to him. One Twitter user wrote, "Just woke up, pardi did WHAT???" Another fan tweeted, "He cheated on Meg in HER CRIB?!? Where Pardi at?"

The accusations towards Fontaine come six months after the couple seemingly broke up following their two-year relationship. In May, Megan attended a wedding in Lake Como, Italy, alongside soccer superstar Romelu Lukaku. They were seen holding hands during the ceremony for Lukaku's friend and teammate Lautaro Martinez and model Agustina Gandolfo, according to the New York Post. Megan was reportedly spotted at an Inter Milan match a few weeks before the wedding, but there have been no recent sightings of Megan and Lukaku together.

The rapper known as "WAP" went public with her romance with Fontaine in February 2021, amidst ongoing speculation about their relationship status. Expressing her discontent during an Instagram Live session, she dismissed the internet rumors, stating, "I don’t [like] some of the stuff on the internet. People don’t know what the hell they talking about. They just be saying anything." She further defended her partner, Pardi, noting his calm and sweet nature, saying, "I didn’t like what they was trying to say about Pardi [because] he is so calm and so sweet. That’s my boo, and I really like him."

According to Megan, the song "Cobra" symbolizes a significant transformation and a fresh start for her. The lyrics of the song touch upon her struggles with mental health issues and suicidal thoughts. This track represents her first release since her departure from 1501 Entertainment after a lengthy legal dispute. Both parties recently declared that they had amicably resolved their differences and decided to go their separate ways, as reported by Billboard. Megan expressed her freedom from her previous label during an Instagram Live session on October 12. She stated that she is personally financing this part of her album and indicated that her future music will be released under her own venture, Hot Girl Productions.

Megan hinted towards a forthcoming track in the conclusion of the "Cobra" music video, suggesting its imminent release. In the final scenes, the colossal python, which had been wrapped around Megan, smoothly slithered away towards a nest housing four eggs. Upon its passing, one of the eggshells commenced cracking.
