Al-Khelaifi has presented Mbappe with an ultimatum: either accept the 12-month contract extension option, which would secure his stay until summer 2025, or be sold in August.
The deadline for Mbappe to inform PSG of his decision is July 31. Given the circumstances, it was unnecessary for Al-Khelaifi to meet with Mbappe on Tuesday. Instead, the PSG president personally greeted six new signings to the club: Milan Skriniar, Marco Asensio, Manuel Ugarte, Lucas Hernandez, Kang-in Lee, and Cher Ndour.
Al-Khelaifi made a visit to the club's recently constructed £250m training ground, where he addressed the entire squad and observed their first training session under the guidance of new head coach Luis Enrique. Al-Khelaifi's speech was resolute and assertive, stating that no one can surpass the institution. Keep in mind, we have been blessed with the world's best training facility. You should take pride in this fact and make the most of it. You have all the resources necessary to achieve success here. There should be no room for excuses if we fail. Hard work is absolutely necessary."
