Matt Damon recently discussed how his wife, Luciana Barroso, provided valuable support during a challenging film project that didn't go as expected.

"Without mentioning any specific movies... there are times when you find yourself working on a film that may not meet your initial expectations, yet you continue to give it your all," 52-year-old Damon shared during an interview on Jake's Takes on July 8th. "I recall being halfway through production, still with several months to go, and having taken my family along, inconveniencing them. I was grappling with a sense of depression and questioning my choices. It was at that point that my wife intervened and lifted me out of those negative thoughts."

Damon did not specify the film that did not meet his expectations, but he shared the advice his wife, Barroso, provided him. He remembered her saying, "We're here now." It was as if she understood the importance of professionalism in acting. Damon takes pride in being a professional actor, which means putting in a full effort even when the outcome may not be successful. Barroso's support helped him maintain a positive attitude in such situations, making him a true professional.

Damon and Barroso got married in 2005 after dating for two years. Earlier this year, the Oppenheimer actor and his wife celebrated their 20th anniversary since their first meeting. They first crossed paths in 2003 when Barroso was working as a bartender in Miami. Damon found the bar while he was filming in that area and was recognized by fans. Barroso protected him from the aggressive crowd by hiding him behind the bar.

According to Barroso, Damon told Vogue in 2018, "Oh I saw you and I really wanted to talk to you." She then put him to work with her, explaining that if he was going to be there, he couldn't just stand around. Damon had previously trained as a bartender for a film, so he started making drinks. His presence generated a lot of tips that night as everyone wanted to see him. It turned into an enjoyable night, and now, 15 years later, they are still together.

Damon shares three daughters with his wife, Barroso - Isabella, who is 17 years old, Gia, who is 14 years old, and Stella, who is 12 years old. Additionally, Damon is the stepfather of Alexia, who is now 24 and was welcomed by Barroso before she met Damon. Prior to the release of Oppenheimer, Damon attended the Paris film premiere on Tuesday, July 11 with Alexia, Gia, Stella, and some of their friends. The group confidently walked the red carpet, posing for photos alongside the rest of the cast. Although Barroso did not attend this particular premiere, she did join Damon and their daughters for the Air premiere in March.
