Forza Motorsport has enchanted players with its stunning visuals and true-to-life driving simulations. With brand-new camera settings available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, Forza now offers even more customization options. Players can now adjust their preferred field of view (FOV) for both first-person and third-person chase cameras, with the ability to choose custom values ranging from 25 to 65 degrees.
Selecting the optimal camera view in Forza Motorsport is a matter of personal preference, but it has a significant impact on the overall gaming experience. Some players find themselves fully immersed using in-car views (such as the cockpit or driver camera), while others prefer external perspectives (like the hood, chase near, or chase far camera) to gain a clearer vision of the track and surrounding vehicles. No matter the preference, here's a guide on how to alter the camera view.
How to Change Camera View
To change the camera view in Forza Motorsport, players can follow these steps.
Navigate to the "Settings" via the Main Menu.
In the Settings menu, go to the "Gameplay & HUD" tab.
Scroll down to find the "Camera" section.
Players can customize their Camera View and Field of View (FOV) to their liking in the Camera section. While racing, they have the option to switch camera angles by pressing the Switch Camera Button. On Xbox consoles, this can be easily done by pressing the Right Bumper (RB) on the controller. PC players, on the other hand, can change the camera angle by pressing the Tab button on their keyboards. This allows players to browse through the different FOV choices available in Forza Motorsport and choose the one that suits them best.
All Field of View (FOV) Options in Forza Motorsport
In Forza Motorsport, players have the option to select from various Field of View (FOV) settings to alter their perspective and race view.
Bumper Camera Field of View: Positioned either near or on the car's front bumper, this camera provides a lower viewpoint, immersing players in the action and creating a sense of proximity to the ground.
Cockpit Camera Field of View: Emulating the driver's viewpoint from within the car's cockpit, this camera presents a lifelike depiction of the dashboard, steering wheel, and the road ahead.
Driver Camera Field of View: Just like the cockpit camera, the Driver camera also offers an in-car perspective, giving the viewer an immersive experience from the driver's seat. The actual view may differ based on the car's interior layout.
Hood Camera Field of View: Positioned on or near the car's hood and facing forward, this camera gives a clear view of the road ahead.
Chase Near Camera FOV: This camera angle positions the camera close to the back of the car, giving a clear view of the car's position in relation to the track and other vehicles.
Chase Far Camera FOV: This camera angle places the camera at a greater distance from the car, offering a broader view of the track and surroundings. This wider perspective can be advantageous for anticipating turns and making strategic decisions.
