Forza Motorsport Unveils Stunning Cover Cars Ahead of Xbox Games Showcase

Forza Motorsport confirms appearance at Xbox Games Showcase with flashy cover cars The highly anticipated AAA first party exclusive is the only title without a release date and fans are eagerly awaiting further details

Forza Motorsport will be making an appearance at Xbox's highly anticipated Games Showcase next month, confirming previous rumors. Along with this exciting news, the game's stunning cover cars have also been unveiled. As one of Xbox's top three AAA first party exclusives for the year, Forza Motorsport is the only game without a release date. Fans were left disappointed after its impressive showing at Xbox's Developer Direct in January due to the lack of a firm release date.

Forza, Xbox's premier racing franchise, had been alternating annually between its simulation-focused Motorsport series and its popular open world adventure-focused Horizon counterpart from 2011 to 2018. After a three-year hiatus following the release of Forza Horizon 4 in 2018, the franchise made a triumphant return in 2021 with the hugely successful Mexico adventure Forza Horizon 5. With a six-year gap between Forza Motorsport 7 and its upcoming title, Turn 10 Studios is gearing up for the future of Forza.

On Twitter, Forza Motorsport has confirmed its appearance at Xbox's upcoming June 11 Games Showcase. The company also revealed that fans will get an exclusive walkthrough of the game's single-player career mode during the next Forza Monthly livestream on June 13.

Forza Motorsport unveiled both of the game's cover cars in the same tweet. The image shows a bright yellow 2023 Cadillac Racing V-Series.R on the right, followed closely by a blue 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray. Previous Forza titles have unveiled cover cars at large events like E3, usually coinciding with the game's initial announcement. However, Forza has chosen to reveal its new cover cars through a tweet just weeks ahead of Xbox's showcase event. It is possible that Forza Motorsport will be an ongoing platform that will receive constant updates for years to come. Therefore, the launch cover cars may be replaced as new cars and events are added to the game, making the original cover cars less significant.

It is highly anticipated that a final release date for Forza Motorsport will be revealed at Xbox's showcase next month. With this being the fourth appearance of the title at a major Xbox event, disappointment would surely ensue if a solid date is not announced - similar to how fans felt after the January Developer Direct. Sim racing enthusiasts only have a few more weeks to wait before they can potentially get their hands on the long-awaited Forza Motorsport. It has been confirmed that the game will be available on both PC and Xbox Series X|S, set to be released in 2023.
