In Cyberpunk 2077, the Phantom Liberty DLC and the 2.0 update have completely transformed car chases and vehicular combat. This means players can expect to spend a significant amount of time navigating the streets of Night City, evading the revamped police force and rival gang members. Moreover, V now has access to exciting new missions provided by El Capitan, involving car thefts and adrenaline-pumping chase sequences.
With these updates come fresh strategies for dealing with adversaries who are also in cars. V now has the option to purchase vehicles equipped with weapons or utilize hacking abilities to create chaos on the city streets. In this guide, we will delve into the effective use of quickhacks to elude and outmaneuver enemies in Cyberpunk 2077.
Unlock the Carhacker Perk
The perks in Cyberpunk 2077 have undergone a complete overhaul, prompting returning players to consider starting a fresh character to avoid any confusion. One of the notable changes is the introduction of the Carhacker perk, which can be found in the Intelligence section. To unlock this perk, players must invest four perk points in the Intelligence tree. This particular perk is pivotal in utilizing quickhacks on vehicles within Night City.
It is important to note that V must have a cyberdeck equipped in order to hack enemies and objects successfully. Therefore, players should prioritize investing in a reliable cyberdeck and acquiring Intelligence perks to enhance the available RAM. Given that vehicle quickhacks have demanding RAM requirements, especially if V is still using their initial deck, this investment becomes even more crucial.
How to Hack Vehicles
After acquiring a competent cyberdeck and the Carhacker perk, players can commence hacking vehicles. Hold the L1/LB button and align the camera with the target, as done with enemies or objects. The list of accessible quickhacks will then be displayed on the screen. Choose the desired hack and press the Square/X button to execute it.
Unlike regular hacks found in Night City stores, vehicle quickhacks do not require individual purchases. Instead, they are linked to the cyberdeck tier of the player. A Purple cyberdeck of Tier 4 will grant access to all vehicle quickhacks.
Self Destruct - Use this hack to cause the vehicle to explode.
Floor It - Hack the accelerator of enemy vehicles, and they will speed away uncontrollably.
Emergency Brake - This hack will engage the brakes of enemy vehicles, making them come to a dead stop.

Players can utilize the Take Control quickhack when they are in close proximity to a vehicle, allowing them to steer and control the car remotely. However, its usefulness in pursuits is limited due to the restricted range displayed on the screen. Nonetheless, players can employ this hack to create chaos while completing additional missions and activities in the bustling Night City.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently accessible on various platforms including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
