Transferring data between two or more devices has always been a challenge for Pokemon players. However, with Pokemon Sleep, the complexity level has increased compared to previous games, leading to controversies and confusion among players since its release.
Consequently, even simple tasks like transferring sleep data to a new device have become difficult for many. To alleviate the confusion surrounding this issue, this guide aims to provide easy-to-follow steps on managing game save migration in Niantic's ambitious sleep-tracking app. Please refer to the list below for detailed instructions.
How to Transfer Pokemon Sleep Data
To transfer Pokemon Sleep data, players can utilize either the Support ID and Transfer Code or log in with their Google, Facebook, or App ID on the new device. Upon installing the Pokemon Sleep app on the new device, select "Transfer Existing Save Data" instead of "Start Fresh" and enter the Support ID along with the Transfer Code.
Players have the option to unlink their social media accounts from the initial game and re-login to them on the new device. By doing so, all the sleep data will be seamlessly transferred, enabling players to continue their progress from where they previously left off.
Having one Pokemon Sleep account simultaneously active on two devices is not feasible. Players must first log out of their game on one phone before proceeding with the data transfer.
How to Get a Transfer Code in Pokemon Sleep
To obtain a new Transfer Code, follow these steps: Launch the Pokemon Sleep app and navigate to the Link Accounts tab in the main menu. Then, tap on "Issue a Transfer Code" to generate a distinct 6-digit code. This code can later be utilized for transferring saved files to a different phone. In case the previous Transfer Code has expired, access the Main Menu, select Settings and More, and proceed to Link Accounts. Then, tap on "Check Transfer Code" and finally, "Get New Transfer Code" located at the top-right corner of the screen.
How to Transfer Account Data without a Transfer Code
By following the aforementioned steps, players will also be able to retrieve their Niantic Support ID. To do so, navigate to the Main Menu and select Settings and More. Next, click on Link Accounts and then choose the option to Issue a Transfer Code. Finally, capture a screenshot of the 16-digit ID.
For players who do not have a Support ID or Transfer Code, there is an alternative method available to link social accounts. To begin, navigate to the "Link Accounts" tab in the Settings and More section of the initial device. Unlink any synced social media accounts from this device. Next, open the app on the new phone and log back into the same accounts.
It should be noted that players who are 16 years old or younger may not be able to transfer their Pokemon Sleep data using the account linking method. In such cases, the only option for them is to utilize the Support ID and Transfer Code to move their files.
What Carries Over to the New Device
All progress and data, including Pokemon Helpers, collected items, earned Diamonds and Biscuits, and achievements, will be seamlessly transferred to the new device due to Pokemon Sleep's cloud storage system.
Pokemon Sleep can now be accessed on mobile devices.
