Currently, there are several exciting updates in Pokemon GO. Niantic has introduced a new feature called 'Routes' and has included the legendary generation 6 Pokemon Zygarde in the game, coinciding with the Blaze New Trails event. Alongside the event, there are special research tasks that involve Zygarde and the new Routes mechanic.
To acquire Zygarde in Pokemon GO, players must complete the third step of the From A to Zygarde Special Research. The tasks are straightforward: claim the rewards, which include an encounter with Zygarde in its 10% form and a Zygarde Cube. The Zygarde Cube enables players to locate Zygarde Cells, which will be explained further in this guide.
How to Get Zygarde Cells in Pokemon GO
At the present moment, the sole method to acquire additional Zygarde Cells is to capitalize on the newly introduced Routes feature in Pokemon GO. While strolling along a Route, there is a possibility of stumbling upon the luminous cells, similar to the image displayed above. These cells bear a resemblance to a diminutive, shiny green-yellow icon.
To establish a fresh Route in Pokemon GO, players must select a PokeStop or Gym and initiate the recording process by tapping on "Record." Players will be required to complete certain details; however, once the submission is accepted, the Route becomes accessible for exploration.
To discover a Route crafted by another player, navigate to the Nearby menu by tapping the icon below the magnifying glass on the home map screen. The rightmost tab, labeled as "Routes," will display any nearby Routes that have been created. From there, players can select the one that best fits their requirements.
Please note that not all Pokemon GO players have the ability to create Routes at this time. The feature is gradually being made available to players worldwide.
To complete the 'From A to Zygarde' Special Research, players must walk on three Routes, catch 20 Pokemon while on these Routes, and find at least one Zygarde Cell for Step 4. Step 5 also includes some tasks related to Routes, so be prepared to extensively test out the newly added feature. By completing these tasks, trainers will receive various rewards, including XP, Stardust, Poke Balls, and Berries.
