Master the Art of Umbral Scouring in Lords of the Fallen with These Expert Farming Tips

Umbral Scourings serve as a form of currency in Lords of the Fallen, primarily used for acquiring special weapons and armor. However, obtaining these Scourings proves to be quite challenging as they are exceptionally scarce and the few sources scattered throughout the game yield minuscule amounts.

Although players are urged to collect Umbral Scourings from Soulflaying memories in the Umbral realm, there exists a more active and perilous method to acquire this valuable resource. Nevertheless, by familiarizing themselves with the process, all players can effectively cultivate Umbral Scourings.

Lords of the Fallen Umbral Scouring Farm

To obtain a consistent supply of Umbral Scourings, eliminate Scarlet Shadows (commonly referred to as red reapers) while in the Umbral realm. These shadows materialize once the right-side eye on the screen turns red and the Vigor multiplier reaches 3.0x.

Engaging Scarlet Shadows in a direct confrontation poses significant challenges, particularly for players with lower levels of experience. Most weapons inflict minimal harm, and the Sanguinatrix loses its functionality in the presence of these adversaries. Nonetheless, these shadows remain vulnerable to one force: gravity.

Like any other enemy encountered in Lords of the Fallen, Scarlet Shadows meet an instant demise when they plummet into a chasm. Players have the ability to entice these adversaries towards a ledge and skillfully Soulflay them off it. Accomplishing this task, however, proves to be more challenging than merely suggesting it since reapers typically display aggressive behavior. Furthermore, their teleportation moves render them somewhat unpredictable.

When a Scarlet Shadow falls off, nearby Vigor wisps and five Umbral Scourings appear. This is more than double the amount obtained from a memory's worth of drops. Additionally, Scarlet Shadows respawn approximately every five minutes. As an added bonus, players can accumulate a substantial amount of Vigor using this method due to the continuous spawning of Umbral creatures, the 3.0x Vigor multiplier, and the plentiful amount of Vigor dropped by each defeated reaper.

For optimal results, this farming strategy is recommended to be executed in Pilgrim's Perch, specifically on the wooden platform that leads into the Vestige of Blind Agatha. Enter the Umbral realm, eliminate the Ardent Penitent and Pilgrims, and patiently wait for Scarlet Shadows to begin appearing.

Once encountered, cross the spine bridge and proceed towards the beams that lead back to the platform. Defeat the relentless Soulflay reaper, gather the rewards, and repeat the process. In case the reaper pursues the players, just attempt again. There will be instances when the reapers may glitch and fall on their own as well.
