Dominican actress and model Massiel Taveras recently shared her experience of clashing with a security guard on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. Kelly Rowland also had a similar encounter with the same guard.

Taveras became a trending topic after a video surfaced on social media, showing her in a heated argument with the security guard on Wednesday, May 22. This incident came after the guard had a similar altercation with Rowland the day before.

Taveras shared a news article about the two incidents on Instagram on Monday, May 27. He expressed his gratitude for the incredible support he has received and emphasized the importance of staying together, supporting each other, protecting our soul, setting strong boundaries, and standing up for our rights.

Taveras praised Rowland for her graceful exit from the red carpet at the premiere of Marcello Mio on May 21.

Taveras expressed admiration for @kellyrowland, describing her as a talented, classy, educated woman of color who embodies love and respect for everyone.

In the post, Taveras praised Kelly for her graceful handling of a difficult situation, sharing her own experience of facing abuse and emphasizing the importance of speaking out against injustice. Taveras emphasized the need for respect and solidarity among black women, standing together to demand the respect we deserve.

Rowland, who is 43 years old, shared with AP Entertainment on Thursday, May 23, that she is aware of what occurred. She emphasized that she has boundaries that she stands by.

The singer from Destiny's Child mentioned that there were other women at the event who did not face the same treatment as her. She pointed out that they were not scolded, pushed, or told to leave, unlike herself.

“I stood my ground, and she felt like she had to stand hers,” Rowland said. “But I stood my ground.”
