Meryl Streep is bringing back the Nancy Meyers vibe. The 74-year-old actress rocked the coastal chic look from Meyers' famous 2009 rom-com It's Complicated at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday, May 14.

She started the day by posing for photos in a stylish Michael Kors linen pant suit with bold shoulders and high-waisted trousers. The outfit was complemented with a navy and white striped button-down shirt, a wide brim fedora hat, black sunglasses, silver heels, and hoop earrings.

In the evening, Streep changed into a white floor-length wrap dress with long sleeves. She completed the look with cat-eye glasses, dangling earrings, a white clutch, and platform heels.

Streep's breezy linen outfit and all-white red carpet look reminded many of her character Jane Adler from It's Complicated. Jane, a bakery owner in Santa Barbara, is known for her billowy button-down shirts, white linen pants, and floppy sun hats.

Meryl Streep is known for her iconic roles in Nancy Meyers movies. Think of Diane Keaton’s cozy white cable knit jumpers, beachy bucket hats, and linen pants in Something’s Gotta Give. This coastal style is a signature look in many of Meyers’ films.

Streep was honored with an honorary Palme d’Or at this year's festival. She graced the stage in the elegant white gown mentioned earlier to accept the prestigious award on Tuesday evening. French actress Juliette Binoche had the honor of introducing Streep, referring to her as “an international treasure.” Binoche then treated the audience to a montage of clips from some of Streep’s most iconic films over the years.

During her acceptance speech, Streep reflected on the movie clips shown, likening the experience to “looking out the window of a bullet train.” She expressed how it felt like watching her youth speed past her into her middle age, leading her right to where she stood on the stage that very night. Streep reminisced about the many faces and places from her past that were brought to life through the clips.

I am really thankful that you still enjoy seeing me and have stayed with me all this time. My mother always has wise words, and she once told me, "Meryl, my dear, time flies by so quickly. Except for your speeches, they tend to be too long."
