In a rare departure from tradition, Loki season 2 introduces a new and fitting fanfare for the MCU opening. This change aligns with the thematic elements of the episode, particularly the time-travel motif that runs throughout the series.
Episode 3 of Loki uncovers the whereabouts of Ravonna Renslayer and Miss Minutes. Following the instructions left by He Who Remains, portrayed by Jonathan Majors and who met his demise in season 1, the former TVA judge journeys to a branched timeline set in late 19th century Chicago. Consequently, the initial MCU logo fanfare has been tailored to harmonize with this specific time period showcased in the episode.

At the start of the episode, the theme composed by Michael Giacchino has undergone changes, possibly by Natalie Holt, the composer of Loki. It has transformed into a lively ragtime melody, enhancing the atmosphere of the early Chicago setting in 1893, which is also the title of the episode.

In the opening moments of Werewolf by Night in 2022, the fanfare music underwent a transformation, taking on the haunting essence of a classic horror flick. Alongside the eerie black and white visuals and the captivating display of electricity coursing through the logo, this fresh rendition was skillfully crafted by none other than Michael Giacchino himself.
