Married at First Sight actors Woody Randall and Amani Aliyya have expanded their family with the arrival of their second child.
The pair, who first connected on season 11 of the popular TLC reality series, joyfully welcomed their son, Rai Zahir Randall, on November 7. Little Rai weighed 6 pounds and measured 19 inches at birth. Aliyya took to her Instagram Story to explain that her son's name signifies "guardian manifestor."
"We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our family! We have recently welcomed our second child and have been taking some time off to bond and enjoy the dynamics of our new family of four," the couple expressed in a statement. "Our eldest son, Reign, has taken a special liking to his baby brother, Rai. He showers Rai with affectionate hugs and kisses, and even tries to share his snacks with him. The first meeting between Reign and Rai on Tuesday morning was filled with heartwarming moments. Reign wore a big smile on his face and couldn't wait to engage in playtime with his new sibling. We are eagerly looking forward to witnessing their relationship blossom and grow!" Aliyya, aged 32, disclosed to MunaMommy that, similar to their firstborn, Reign, she opted for an intimate home birth at their residence in New Orleans. This time, Randall, aged 33, had the opportunity to be more actively involved in the birth process.
“I’m filled with optimism about the birthing process as I had the opportunity to be more involved compared to when Reign was born,” Randall shared with the outlet. “This experience has undoubtedly strengthened the bond between Rai and me, making it even more meaningful. Additionally, I feel a heightened connection with Amani since I was able to provide assistance and be of greater support.”
Amani Aliyya and Woody Randall, courtesy of Amani Aliyya/Instagram, got married in 2020 on season 11 of Married at First Sight. They recently celebrated the arrival of their first child, a son named Reign, in June 2022. Aliyya mentioned that although it's still too early to tell, they believe Reign may take after Woody and have his eyes, while Aliyya thinks he has her nose.
Randall expressed his enthusiasm for Father's Day, eagerly anticipating capturing adorable and synchronized moments with his baby, sporting matching ensembles.
Approaching the final stages of her pregnancy with Reign, Aliyya confidently asserted that she harbored no apprehensions about the forthcoming changes in her life as a mother. In a powerful caption accompanying her maternity shoot photos in March 2022, she reflected upon the societal norms, provoked by women who projected pessimistic views on her impending motherhood as if it signified the culmination of her existence.
She added, "Although my life will inevitably change, I don't feel the need to indulge in excess just because I'm expecting a baby. I understand that sacrifices will be required, but I see this as the beginning of a new phase in my life." Catch Married at First Sight on Lifetime every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
