MAFS Star Jamie Thompson Breaks Silence on Divorce from Elizabeth Bice: Shocking Revelations About Husbands' Choices

Jamie Thompson appears to be providing some insight into his decision to end his marriage with Elizabeth Bice. On Sunday, July 2, the 39-year-old former participant of "Married at First Sight" shared a quote by Dr. John Delony, referring to it as "Sunday wisdom."

"Husbands, here's the deal. You have a choice. You can choose to embrace unhappiness, anger, deceit, and idleness. Alternatively... You can choose love, selflessness, taking the first step into the unknown, and being there for your partner even in comfort," Delony, a mental health podcaster, shared on his Instagram recently. "You have the power to fill your home with laughter, excitement, mystery, passion, and happiness. You can choose to love your spouse unconditionally and forever. Always remember: The choice is yours."

Thompson did not provide further explanation for why he related to Delony's advice, but it coincides with his recent decision to end his marriage.

“Last Friday proved to be an extremely challenging day for me. I found myself undertaking a task that I believed would never be required of me. Presently, I find myself seated in front of the Denver courthouse, grappling with an unfortunate situation. Despite numerous discussions with Beth over the course of several months, we regrettably could not arrive at a mutual understanding,” Thompson relayed on Friday, June 30, via Instagram. “I had sincerely hoped for a resolution, yet it seems that we have now arrived at a juncture from which there is no return.”

He explained, "In order to prioritize my mental health and overall well-being, I ultimately decided to initiate divorce proceedings. It was an incredibly difficult decision, and I feel a great deal of sadness to have reached this point. While I never had complete certainty about getting married in the first place, I certainly did not anticipate or desire a divorce, even though our marriage was arranged by Hollywood."

Bice, aged 33, has not yet discussed the divorce between the couple.

Thompson and Bice were selected and wedded in 2019 as part of the ninth season of the television show, Married at First Sight. Their first meeting took place at the altar. Despite engaging in several intense arguments after the wedding, the pair chose to remain together after the experiment on Lifetime concluded. Thompson and Bice, who marked their fourth anniversary in March, continued documenting their experiences on various social media platforms and through the spinoff show, Couple's Cam, as they relocated from North Carolina to California and later Colorado.

Thompson and Bice officially ended their relationship in April. Thompson expressed the need for personal growth on Instagram, while Bice revealed on her Instagram that she wasn't ready to publicly address their separation. In a social media video, she admitted to experiencing a range of emotions and struggling to articulate her feelings, even admitting to crying at night.
