Maria Georgas Opens Up About Relationship with Bachelor Joey and the Transition to New Beginnings

Maria Georgas shares her thoughts on the conclusion of her relationship with Bachelor Joey Graziadei and the growing anticipation for her potential role as the Bachelorette.

Maria Georgas, who appeared on season 28 of The Bachelor, believes that her relationship with Joey Graziadei ended at the right time. Reflecting on her journey, Maria feels that watching the show served as her closure. She is confident that everything unfolded as it was meant to, and that their relationship naturally ran its course. During the Women Tell All taping, Maria, 29, shared that she realized they were at a point where she was resorting to drastic measures to leave, indicating that they were both struggling to find stability in the relationship.

Bachelor Nation saw Maria almost leave the show before getting a hometown date earlier this month. Even though she stayed and accepted Joey’s rose, it seemed to spell the end for her relationship with the 28-year-old tennis pro. Maria planned to confess her love to Joey after he met her family, but she got nervous and couldn't do it. Finally, at the final rose ceremony, Maria took Joey aside to tell him she loved him, but he still sent her home.

Maria explained her decision to tell Joey how she felt while Rachel Nance, Daisy Kent, and Kelsey Anderson waited for roses. She said, “I just think it was the right time to do it. I don’t want to have any regrets, and I would've regretted not saying it. Maybe the timing was off, but I’m happy with how things turned out.”

How things are playing out is also still very much TBD as fans call for Maria to be the next Bachelorette.

"It's truly amazing," she said to Us and another reporter about the incredible fan support. "I never imagined it would be this overwhelming, and I am so grateful for all of them."

The Canadian is feeling a bit overwhelmed when asked if she would be interested in hosting her own rose ceremony.

She expressed her surprise and gratitude at even being considered for such a role. The idea of being in that position had never crossed her mind before. She admitted that the thought of it was both exciting and a little daunting. Despite feeling unsure, she acknowledged that it would be a unique and amazing experience. She also mentioned that she would be foolish to turn down such an opportunity. Overall, she is grateful for the support and interest from others, and finds it heartwarming to know that people want to see more of her.

Joey’s journey with his final two, Kelsey and Daisy, concludes on ABC Monday, March 25, at 8 p.m. ET.
