Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd welcomed their son, Hayes, in March 2020.
Following the birth, Morris shared the story of her emergency C-section which came after enduring 30 hours of labor. Via Instagram, she expressed, "I quickly realized that night that making plans for childbirth is futile. The only thing that truly mattered was his safe arrival."
The new mother proceeded to express, "The arrival of my baby during the [coronavirus pandemic] was not anticipated in the baby preparation guides, yet here we are. I find myself cherishing him and recuperating in a maternity ward that is oddly silent due to the absence of visitors and family members at this time, but strangely peaceful."
Several months later, Morris removed certain photos of her newborn after receiving harsh criticism from mom-shamers. These individuals had taken issue with images showing herself and Hayes sitting on a float in the lake without him wearing a life jacket.
"Due to the constant criticism I receive about my motherhood whenever I post pictures of Hayes, I am considering discontinuing sharing photos of him. It's unfortunate, but I feel like that's the direction I'm leaning towards. We have actually talked about reducing the number of photos we post now that he's getting older, but the negativity from other moms has pushed us to make a decision."
During that period, Hurd publicly supported Morris and continued to do so as they navigated the challenges of being parents in the public eye. However, in October 2023, it was confirmed that Morris had filed for divorce.

Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd's Family Album: See Pics With Their Son Hayes
Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd welcomed their son, Hayes, in March 2020.
Following the birth, Morris shared the details of her emergency C-section, which came after enduring 30 hours of labor. Reflecting on the experience on Instagram, she acknowledged that having a predetermined birthing plan proved futile, realizing that the most important thing was the safe arrival of her baby boy.
The new mother proceeded to write, "In the midst of the [coronavirus pandemic], I never expected this situation to be a part of my preparation for motherhood. However, here we are, embracing the experience of holding my baby and recuperating in a maternity ward that is unsettlingly quiet due to the restrictions on visitors and family members during this time. Nevertheless, there is an unexpected sense of tranquility."
Months later, Morris faced criticism from mom-shamers after sharing photos of herself and Hayes on a float in the lake, where he was not wearing a life jacket. As a result, she decided to delete those pictures of her newborn.
"In all honesty, I receive countless criticisms regarding my motherhood whenever I share photos of Hayes. As a result, I am considering discontinuing posting his pictures. It's unfortunate, but it seems to be the direction I'm heading in. We were already discussing reducing the frequency of sharing photos now that he's getting older, but the additional negativity from mostly other moms has pushed us to make this decision."
During that period, Hurd stood up for Morris publicly and continued to support her as they navigated the challenges of being parents under scrutiny. However, in October 2023, it was confirmed by Us magazine that Morris had filed for divorce.

Major Milestone
“Today marks the six-month anniversary of our son's arrival,” Morris wrote alongside a family selfie taken in September 2020. "From the beginning, he displayed an early smile and a captivating gaze, as if he had encountered you in a previous life. He readily consumes all the leafy greens that I would never dare to try, and we have only heard him cry genuinely on four distinct occasions. We are sincerely anticipating the moment when he transitions into a mischievous troublemaker, but for now, he remains our endearingly gentle and perceptive son. Happy six-month milestone, little Bub."
