Jason Aldean stated that he had limited contact with Maren Morris prior to the conflict between Morris and his wife, Brittany Aldean. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Jason, aged 46, expressed that he has never engaged in a conversation with Morris for more than 10 seconds, therefore, he does not hold an opinion of her. The only knowledge Jason possessed was that Morris was targeting his wife in the media.
Morris and Brittany's dispute erupted in August 2022 when Brittany posted on social media, causing certain onlookers to perceive it as being anti-trans.
Expressing her thoughts on the trans community's pursuit of gender-affirming treatment, 35-year-old Brittany stated, "During my tomboy phase, I am genuinely grateful that my parents did not alter my gender," thereby acknowledging her parents.
Morris, a strong advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, responded with a witty comeback, stating, "It's really not that difficult to be a decent person, you know? Why don't you get rid of your false hair extensions and keep quiet, Insurrection Barbie."
In the meantime, Jason showed his public support for his wife by engaging in the online exchange with Morris, who is 33 years old. During his performance at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, Jason playfully announced to the audience that Morris would be making a guest appearance on stage, resulting in the crowd expressing their disapproval with boos.
In his profile in the Los Angeles Times, he discussed the peculiar situation involving Morris, referring to her as "this chick."
"I must point out that our beliefs are poles apart. However, I have no personal knowledge of her whatsoever," he added. "Yet, she made bold claims about me and my wife, somehow."

Morris has consistently made subtle digs at the Aldeans and their political beliefs, particularly in response to the backlash and racism allegations that followed Jason's May song "Try That in a Small Town." Despite the criticism, he has stood by the tune and its lyrics, recently stating in an interview with CBS News that he had good intentions with the song.
Several months after the release of Jason's single, Morris unveiled her own new songs in September. Building anticipation for her EP entitled "The Bridge," she shared a sneak peek on Instagram featuring a classic depiction of a small town. In the image, a billboard proclaimed, "Welcome to our Perfect Small Town From Sunrise to Sundown," seemingly referencing Jason's song.
Morris titled the image, referring to her song "The Tree," with the statement, "I'm finished pouring into a cup with a hole in its base." Alongside the caption, she shared a photograph of herself adorned in a black gown reminiscent of her ensemble worn at the 2016 Country Music Association Awards. Although Morris received the New Artist of the Year award that year, Jason openly discussed his absence from any nominations.
Maren Morris has emphasized her independence in pursuing her own musical style and has extended an invitation for others to join her. She vehemently dismissed the widely circulated notion that she was departing from country music, labeling it as "ridiculous."
“I don't want to say goodbye, but I can no longer be a part of this institution's toxic environment," she shared during her appearance on The New York Times' "Popcast" podcast last month. "I'm content pursuing my own path and extend an invitation to join me if you wish; everyone is welcome."
