Marcus Jordan hopes that his father, Michael Jordan, will go beyond simply giving a toast at his upcoming wedding to girlfriend Larsa Pippen. During an episode of the "Pablo Torre Finds Out" podcast on Tuesday, October 31st, Marcus, who is 32 years old, shared his desire to uphold the tradition of being the best man at his father's and brother's weddings.
Since they started dating in September 2022, Michael, who is 60 years old, has made it clear that he does not support his son's relationship with Larsa, who is 49 years old. Larsa was previously married to Scottie Pippen, who has been a longtime NBA rival of Michael. Michael has children named Marcus, Jeffrey (34), and Jasmine (30) with his ex-wife Juanita Vanoy, and he also has twin daughters named Victoria and Ysabel (9) with his current wife Yvette Prieto.
During an episode of her and Marcus' podcast "Separation Anxiety," Larsa disclosed in July that she felt "embarrassed" and "traumatized" by Michael's open disapproval. Despite Marcus assuring her that his father was simply joking around, she did not find it amusing.
The couple has not officially announced their engagement, but an exclusive source revealed to We in August that Marcus had given Larsa a promise ring and they were currently discussing the possibility of getting married.
Marcus further added to the speculation during his appearance on Tuesday's podcast with host Pablo Torre, stating, "We're working on it." He went on to say, "We haven't set a date yet. We're still deciding on the location, the size of the celebration, and other details. So, it's not completely confirmed, but it will happen."
Part of their wedding planning involves deciding whether or not to share their big day with fans through television. "Since I was on The [Real] Housewives of Miami, the producers have been asking about our wedding and if we would consider filming it for TV," Marcus revealed. "So, that's something we are currently considering, whether or not it will be aired."
Marcus Jordan, who will be featured on RHOM season 6 alongside Larsa Pippen, expressed that his family values their privacy. He shared his desire for having "multiple weddings" as his preferred scenario.
He explained that there might be a private ceremony for family and friends, and possibly a more public one. However, only time will tell. While Michael may still have reservations about Marcus' future marriage, Larsa revealed to Us earlier this year that her children adore her boyfriend. She stated in June that her kids love him and that they all share similar interests. Larsa also mentioned that he seamlessly fits into their family. (The Bravo star has four children, Scotty Jr., 22, Preston, 21, Justin, 18, and Sophia, 14, with Scottie, 58.)
In the same month, Marcus revealed to Us that his family was becoming more accepting of his debut on RHOM. "We are a very private family, but they understand that I am an adult," he said. "They have confidence in my ability to navigate that world. However, it has definitely been a learning experience."
