Larsa Pippen had a distressing experience but fortunately remained unharmed after she witnessed a shooting while out with her boyfriend, Marcus Jordan.
"Incredibly shaken up! @heirmj523 and I were on Lincoln road when a shooting involving an officer took place!" Pippen, 49, shared on her Instagram Story on Thursday, July 27. She explained, "A man was holding two people hostage at knifepoint. The police responded and an officer had to shoot the suspect."
Pippen expressed her gratitude towards the Miami Beach Police Department, acknowledging that she was extremely thankful for their presence during the distressing incident where people were running and screaming.
As reported by CBS News Miami, the incident took place on Thursday afternoon. Pippen uploaded a video on social media showcasing the shooting incident, where police officers can be heard instructing bystanders to evacuate the area before apprehending the suspect.
Authorities were summoned to the bustling shopping area at approximately 5:30 p.m. ET, where they were confronted with a male individual brandishing a knife and issuing threats to two individuals, as reported by local news sources. Allegedly, the officers reacted by physically subduing the individual, who was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital. There were no additional casualties, however, the suspect is currently in critical condition.
Pippen and Jordan, aged 32, initially ignited speculation about their romantic involvement in September 2022. As their relationship developed, an undisclosed source divulged to We in January that the couple is deeply enamored with each other and believes their bond is exceptionally strong.
However, their relationship has sparked controversy. Larsa's former spouse, Scottie Pippen, and Marcus' father, Michael Jordan, were once friends but eventually became rivals during their tenure as teammates for the Chicago Bulls from 1987 to 1998.
Moreover, in a podcast called "Stacey King's Gimme the Hot Sauce!" in May, Scottie, aged 57, openly criticized Michael, who is 60 years old, by labeling him a "terrible player." Prior to this, Scottie also expressed his disappointment with Michael's 2020 documentary series, The Last Dance, claiming that it neglected to give proper recognition to him and his fellow Bulls teammates.

Larsa Pippen and Scottie Pippen, who have four children together - Scotty Jr. (22), Preston (21), Justin (18), and Sophia (14) - first separated in 2015, but briefly reconciled before breaking up again in 2018. Their divorce was officially finalized in December 2021.
Marcus previously revealed to Us earlier this year that his family was becoming more accepting of the idea of him appearing on The Real Housewives of Miami with Larsa. However, Michael jokingly expressed his disapproval of his son's new relationship, stating that it did not have his approval.
During a recent episode of their "Separation Anxiety" podcast, Larsa addressed Michael's comments. She admitted feeling embarrassed and even traumatized by his response.
Marcus, on the other hand, dismissed his father's comment as insignificant. "I found it absolutely hilarious when I saw the headline. I understand my dad," he shared. "It's in our nature to tease and joke around. He was just being playful and amused. He had a few drinks too. I didn't take it seriously."
Larsa, on the other hand, disagreed, stating, "I didn't find it amusing at all. There's nothing comical about it."
