Former Liverpool star and CBS pundit Jamie Carragher described the Champions League as "amazing" after the game. He believes that the competition showcases the best teams, with Real Madrid and Manchester City being the top contenders due to their history and current champion status.
I was so lucky to witness that amazing moment and I'm already looking forward to the next match. The excitement began early in the game as City scored a fantastic goal less than two minutes in, thanks to a brilliant free kick by Bernardo Silva.
The midfielder surprised everyone by taking a shot at goal instead of crossing the ball during the set-piece. This unexpected move caught the Los Blancos goalkeeper off guard, as Andriy Lunin was unable to stop the ball from finding the back of the net. He may have done better to prevent the goal.
The early goal by Silva set the tone for the game, and soon after, the host team was able to equalize. Just 10 minutes after City took the lead, Madrid scored a goal of their own thanks to Eduardo Camavinga's long-range shot that deflected off Rúben Dias.
The Madrid fans cheered loudly after their team scored a goal. Just two minutes later, Rodrygo received a great pass from Vinícius Jr. and calmly scored past Stefan Ortega.

A wild second-half
After a wild beginning, the intensity of the game started to calm down towards half-time as both teams tried to gain control. However, everything shifted after the break.
It was in the 66th minute when City's standout player, Phil Foden, scored a breathtaking goal that will be remembered as one of the best in Champions League history.
Foden, the Englishman, found a small opening near the Real Madrid box. With a quick left-footed strike, he scored a brilliant goal in the top corner of the net. It was a remarkable shot that showcased Foden's exceptional performance for City this season.
Foden shared with TNT Sports after the game that he felt a strong connection when he scored the goal, a move he often practices during training where he positions himself on the edge of the box.
He expressed gratitude for the goal that went in the top corner, acknowledging that not all attempts are successful.
Defender Joško Gvardiol was inspired by what he had just seen and scored a long-range goal to give City the lead. He cut in from the left and produced a stunning strike that hit the far corner of the net.
The game wasn't over yet, as Los Merengues began pushing for an equalizer.
Foden's goal was perhaps the best in a high-quality match on Tuesday.
