Luke Combs surprised his wife, Nicole Combs, by sharing a sneak peek of a new song dedicated to their two sons.

The country singer, 34, took to Instagram on Wednesday, March 13, to post a snippet of the song titled “The Man He Sees in Me,” reaching out to his 6.1 million followers for feedback on the track.

The song, inspired by Luke's experience as a father to his sons Tex, 20 months, and Beau, 6 months, received a lot of positive comments from fans. However, the person who had the most intense reaction was Luke's wife.

"You can't just surprise me like this," Nicole, 31, expressed in the comments. "I was completely caught off guard and feeling emotional."

Luke sings about one of his sons wearing “Walmart boots and a camouflage hat” and shares his fear of meeting their expectations. He confesses in his song that he hopes his son never discovers that he is not perfect and has never been able to scare away monsters from his closet. Luke hopes that one day, as his son grows up and sits on his lap while driving, he will finally become the man his son sees in him.

The ballad received high praise from Luke's fellow country music artists. Nate Smith, who sang "World on Fire," exclaimed, "I love this Luke!!!!!!!" Cole Swindell also shared his admiration with a simple, "Lord. ."

Luke first teased “The Man He Sees in Me” during an acoustic performance he posted via Instagram in January.

"Hey everyone, it's Luke back on dad duty," he greeted in the video with one of his sons making noise in the background. "Just got back from my hunting trip. Beau is over there doing tummy time and Tex is napping. Got the baby monitor right here and Nicole is on the treadmill."

"I know you guys enjoy dad songs, so I've got a whole bunch of them ready to go," Luke added.

His wife also loved the song and showed her appreciation by commenting with three fire emojis on the post.

Although it seems that Luke has recorded a studio version of “The Man He Sees in Me,” he has not revealed any details about when the song will be released.

Luke performed with Tracy Chapman at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards in February. His latest album, Gettin' Old, was released in March 2023 and includes his cover of Chapman's "Fast Car."

Following the album release, Luke will begin his Growin' Up and Gettin' Old Tour starting on April 12 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
