Donna Kelce is perhaps the most renowned mother in NFL history, but more importantly, she is a regular grandmother who enjoys spending time with her granddaughters.
"I wish I could spend more time with them," said Kelce, 71, in an exclusive interview with We on Tuesday, November 14, while promoting her partnership with Ancestry®. "When I am with them, I fully immerse myself in the present moment. I want to participate in their activities, whether it's playing games, reading to them, or building blocks. I strive to be as active as possible and give them my full attention, showing them that I value their time and who they are."
Donna, the grandmother of three, owes her joy to her son Jason Kelce, who along with his wife Kylie Kelce, has welcomed three lovely daughters—Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 2, and Bennett, 8 months. Jason, 36, who also happens to be a dad to son Travis Kelce from his previous marriage to Ed Kelce, has impressively embraced his role as a supportive and loving father to his girls, even though he was initially taken aback by the surprise of having three daughters in a row.

“But he adores every single girl,” Donna chimed in. "He appreciates the affection, he adores their endearing demeanor, their charming remarks, their boundless love for their pets and dolls."
Regarding the parenting guidance Donna has provided to Jason, she has urged him to empower his daughters to pursue their own passions.
“Allow your children to choose their own passions,” she explained. “Avoid trying to influence them towards a specific path. Instead, provide numerous opportunities for them to explore various activities and let them make their own decisions. They will excel in whatever they truly enjoy. It is innate. When they have a genuine love for something, they will engage in it repeatedly. Whether it's art, sports, music, or any other pursuit they adore, encourage them to pursue it and offer assistance and support.”

Donna expressed her strong emphasis on the importance of family, revealing her motivation to work with Ancestry®. She commended the partnership specifically for their innovative tools, such as the ability to upload photos and recipes. These features truly captured her interest.
Delving deeper into her own personal history intrigued her, as Donna eagerly desired to uncover details about her ancestors. She shared her struggles in finding information about relatives who participated in wars or immigrated to the United States. However, her perseverance paid off when she stumbled upon a revelation: two of her ancestors fought in the American Civil War. Remarkably, this knowledge was unearthed from a 179-page pension document in the National Archives. Donna expressed her awe and amazement towards the impressive ability to locate such invaluable historical records.
