Milton Johnson witnessed firsthand the explosive argument between his Love Is Blind fiancée, Lydia Velez Gonzalez, and Uche Okoroha.
In the recent episodes of Love Is Blind season 5, which premiered on Friday, September 29, Uche, 34, directly confronted his former partner Lydia, 32, alleging that she joined the show with the deliberate intention of reigniting their previous relationship.
“I think it’s a complex matter,” stated Milton, 25, exclusively to We before the season 5 premiere. "Honestly, I have my own opinions, but if you really want to know the answer, it would probably be better to ask Netflix."
Milton quickly formed a strong connection with Lydia during the experiment, which took place in Houston this season. As their love story unfolded without seeing each other, it was revealed that Lydia had previously dated Uche before the show. This shocking revelation proved to be too overwhelming for Aaliyah Cosby, Uche's love interest in the pods, who decided to leave before proposal day. Despite the drama, Milton remained steadfast in his commitment to Lydia and focused on their relationship.
"I believe that the crux of the matter is that our values aligned," Milton expressed to Us when discussing their relationship. "Our moral compasses were in sync, and we shared the same aspirations for our lives. Right from the beginning, it simply felt like a perfect fit, like a harmonious connection. This is why we were determined to wholeheartedly pursue this union and explore the boundless possibilities it held."
Milton Johnson and Lydia Velez Gonzalez, with a significant age difference of almost 7 years, progressed their relationship in the latest episodes. Upon meeting in person for the first time, they wasted no time in exploring their physical connection during their romantic trip to Mexico after getting engaged.
As their bond strengthened through introductions to each other's loved ones, Uche and Lydia's relationship took a serious turn when they nearly got into a physical altercation at a pod squad gathering. Uche criticized Lydia for supposedly having ulterior motives for appearing on the reality TV show, information he had initially learned from Aaliyah. Lydia, on her part, denied Uche's claim and insisted that her intentions were different.
When asked about witnessing the fight between Lydia and Uche, Milton revealed, "I wasn't really part of that conversation. My main reason for being on the show was to potentially find my future wife. So that was my primary objective."

Thank You!
He continued, stating that Lydia possessed all the qualities he desired in a wife, which compelled him to pursue her. In addition to this, he acknowledged the delightful aspect of enjoying exquisite cuisine and forming remarkable friendships with individuals such as Chris [Fox] and the rest of the cast members. However, he emphasized that ultimately, his main objective was to find love and he was determined to prioritize it above all else.
