Season 2 has concluded filming and is set for a release on Prime Video later this year. While Season 3 has not yet been officially greenlit, McKay and Payne have already started working on the initial story outline for the next installment, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
McKay and Payne had already announced their plans for five seasons, with the final shot of the final season already mapped out. This news comes as no shock.
Amazon has also confirmed a significant change in production location for The Rings of Power, moving from Bray Studios to Shepperton Studios in the UK.
