Liam Payne, at the age of 29, expressed his gratitude towards his son, Bear Grey, and his mother Cheryl Cole in a YouTube video on July 8th. He shared that spending time with Bear has been a wonderful experience and he appreciates the freedom they have given him to focus on his personal well-being. Liam acknowledges that he didn't have much to offer as a father until now, other than his unconditional love and care for his son, which he considers to be of utmost importance.
Payne revealed in a video on social media that he had taken a short break from the public eye after realizing he had changed into someone he didn't recognize. Now that he's back, the singer admitted that he has a better understanding of life and is able to prioritize the well-being of his son, Bear.
"He's amazing. I mean, he's growing up way too fast," Payne jokingly said. "Just the other day, he actually sent me a text from his iPad saying, 'Hello, Dad.' I mean, he's only 6 years old, what's he doing? I tried to respond in a playful manner by writing 'ello' instead of 'hello,' and he swiftly corrected me, saying, 'No, no, it's not ello, it's hello with an H.' He's really picking things up quickly."
Payne remarked, "He is much smarter than I will ever be. He is a marvel, and currently in the process of learning to speak. It is a joy to witness his growth." Payne, now 40, and Cole first crossed paths in 2010 during his audition for The X Factor, where she served as a judge. They began their romantic relationship in February 2015, almost two years before Cole announced that she was expecting their first child. Their son, Bear, was born in March 2017.

After the birth of my son, I took to Instagram to express my astonishment and joy. It's a moment that will forever hold a special place in my heart and is my most cherished memory thus far. The strength and dedication shown by the mother throughout this journey have truly made my dreams come true. Although we have yet to decide on a name, our baby boy has already won over our hearts, including mine. Despite our eventual separation in July 2018, Payne and Cole have remained devoted to co-parenting Bear.
"My mom is truly the greatest. I couldn't imagine having anyone better," exclaimed the "Strip That Down" singer while speaking on the "Impaulsive With Logan Paul" podcast in March 2022. "Our friendship has blossomed even more since our breakup. We separated for a reason, and now she grants me complete freedom to live my life and pursue my passions. I'm grateful that she prioritizes our son, Bear, above all else. I couldn't ask for anything more. Interestingly, they live just a short three-minute drive from my home."
