LeBron James' eldest son, Bronny James, made his first public appearance since his hospitalization for cardiac arrest. On Friday, July 28, the basketball superstar, 38, and 18-year-old Bronny were photographed at Santa Monica's Giorgio Baldi restaurant. LeBron sported a casual look with a "Midwest Kids" hoodie and olive green trousers, while Bronny chose a white sweatshirt and black pants. They were joined by LeBron's wife, Savannah James, and their younger children, 16-year-old Bryce and 8-year-old Zhuri.
The James family went out together one day after Bronny was released from the hospital following his recent health scare.
According to Dr. Merije Chukumerije, a cardiologist who treated Bronny, he was successfully treated for a sudden cardiac arrest thanks to the quick and effective response from the USC athletics' medical staff. Bronny arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center fully conscious, with no neurological issues, and in stable condition. He received prompt care from highly-trained staff and has been discharged home where he is currently resting. While his treatment will continue, we remain hopeful for his ongoing progress and are encouraged by his response, strength, and the support of his family and community.
Bronny was rushed to the emergency room on Monday, July 24, after experiencing cardiac arrest during his basketball practice at the University of Southern California. According to a spokesperson for LeBron's family, medical personnel were able to provide immediate treatment and transfer him to the hospital. The spokesperson stated that Bronny is currently in stable condition and has been moved out of the ICU. The James family requests respect and privacy during this time, and further updates will be provided to the media as more information becomes available.
Three days elapsed, and LeBron disclosed that his eldest child was making progress towards recuperation. "I would like to express my gratitude to the numerous individuals who have been sending love and prayers to my family," he conveyed through a Twitter post on Thursday. "We appreciate your support, and I am truly thankful. The well-being of everyone is thriving. Our family is reunited, secure, and in good health, and your love is deeply felt."
LeBron expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support Bronny has received and mentioned that he will address the situation further when their family is prepared.
Bronny, who graduated from high school this spring, has committed to play basketball for USC starting in the fall. LeBron expressed his immense pride, stating that the entire family is proud of Bronny's accomplishment. LeBron highlighted the significance of this milestone in their family, considering that he did not go to college himself. He expressed his overwhelming emotions and excitement for Bronny's journey.
