PSG took a 1-0 lead when Vitinha scored just after halftime. Then, Mbappé scored his first goal of the night in impressive fashion. The 2022 World Cup golden boot winner made a spectacular play in the 60th minute, taking the ball from just outside the Metz box and curling a brilliant strike in off the crossbar.

Metz got back into the game through a Matthieu Udol header, but if there were any nerves, Mbappé quickly put an end to them.
The French forward scored his second goal after intercepting a poorly executed pass to Metz goalkeeper Alexandre Oukidja. Mbappé quickly seized the opportunity, evaded the keeper, and calmly slotted the ball into the net, bringing the score to 3-1.
As the match drew to a close, Mbappé received another gift when PSG manager Luis Enrique introduced Ethan Mbappé as a substitute in the 90th minute, marking his debut for the team.
The 16-year-old was not on the field for long, but the Mbappé brothers were able to share the pitch together for the first time in senior football.

Ethan Mbappé expressed his joy at his brother's birthday gift, saying, "I think it was a great birthday present for my brother. I'm very happy for him, as well as for myself," to PSG postgame.
Kylian also shared his happiness, stating, "I'm very happy. It's great for Ethan, but even more so for me as his big brother."
