"It's a challenge to face constant reminders of your younger self, while also dealing with criticism for trying to combat the natural aging process," shared Kristin Davis in a recent interview with The Telegraph.
After starring in six seasons of Sex and the City as Charlotte York-Goldenblatt, Davis has remained a fixture in pop culture since the show's premiere 25 years ago. However, while the benefits of syndication are undeniable, Davis admits that constantly being reminded of her appearance in her 30s took a toll on her self-esteem over time. Despite the internet's conflicting messages about body image, Davis emphasizes the importance of remembering that one does not have to conform to society's narrow standards of beauty.
The star of Holiday in the Wild recently shared her experience with plastic surgery, specifically experimenting with facial fillers as a means of combating wrinkles and other signs of aging. While some of her experiences with the procedure have been positive, she also admitted to having had negative outcomes and even being subjected to ridicule as a result, leading to significant stress and emotional distress.
Davis acknowledged that she has been criticized for fillers that didn't yield satisfactory results, even though they were administered by a qualified medical professional. She expressed frustration that people tend to hold her accountable for any negative outcomes. In addition, she stressed the significance of having truthful friends in her life. She explained that for a long time, no one had mentioned that her fillers didn't look good, but fortunately, she eventually received honest feedback from her reliable friends.

Kim Cattrall, who portrayed Samantha Jones in the original HBO series, has also spoken about plastic surgery. In a 2011 interview with Daily Mail, she expressed a desire to embrace aging, stating that a forehead without lines does not indicate a life well-lived. However, in a recent interview with the U.K.'s Sunday Times, the 66-year-old actress clarified her position, stating that her views have changed and she is now focused on fighting aging in any way possible.
Numerous alternatives are now available to stimulate your body to combat aging. From fillers to Botox, there are numerous options to explore and experiment with to determine if they are suitable for you," she explained. "However, it is crucial to have the funds and, more significantly, the appropriate surgeon. ... This cannot be overstated. You want to appear like yourself."
The Canadian native, who will reprise her role as the legendary publicist in And Just Like That season 2 on Max, stressed that this form of self-care is critical to her profession.
“It’s not just a vanity thing,” Cattrall explained. “I play a certain kind of woman who looks a certain kind of way. And professionally, I am looking after myself.”
