Kevin Connolly didn’t attend the 2024 Golden Globes, but he had a lot to say about the stars who did.
"Table 2 is unimpressed!" Connolly, 49, captioned an Instagram video on Sunday, January 7th, while watching the awards show at The Beverly Hills Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
In the video, Connolly focused on Nicolas Cage, Jared Leto, and Joaquin Phoenix, all of whom appeared disinterested as Mark Hamill presented the first-ever Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award. Leto, 52, briefly cracked a small smile during the presentation.
The Entourage star wasn't the only one fascinated by the reactions of celebrities in the Golden Globes audience. Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Keleigh Teller, the wife of Miles Teller, went viral for appearing to have a chat during the ceremony. Fans tried to lip read the trio as Gomez, 31, moved over to Swift's table.
Kevin Connolly shared a post in which one person claimed that Selena Gomez had denied a picture with Kylie Jenner's boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, with Keleigh responding with a question prompting Gomez to nod in agreement.
Gomez and Swift both left the awards show without any awards. Gomez had been nominated for her work on Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, but the Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy award was won by The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri.
Meanwhile, Swift’s Eras Tour concert movie was recognized in the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category, competing against Barbie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Ultimately, Barbie took home the award.
“We extend our gratitude to every individual around the globe who has adorned themselves and visited the most remarkable place on the planet — the movie theater,” expressed Margot Robbie, portraying Barbie in the film, as she accepted the accolade. “We are thankful to Ryan Gosling for fully embracing the beach vibe. … Our heartfelt appreciation to the Golden Globes for establishing an award that honors movie enthusiasts. This is a film about Barbie, but it also delves into the realm of humanity. … We crafted it with love, and we are grateful for the love it has received in return.”
