Kelsea Ballerini has discovered a sense of "peace" in her choice to end her marriage with Morgan Evans, one year after closing the door on their relationship. Reflecting on her experiences, Ballerini revealed in an interview with Nylon that she felt overwhelmed and tangled up in various aspects of her life.

The singer, known for her hit song "Mountain With a View," deliberated on her next words before finally confessing, "I can honestly say, from the depths of my being, that I have absolutely no regrets. None at all."

In August 2022, Ballerini made the announcement that she and her husband, Evans, 38, had decided to end their marriage after nearly five years. Their divorce was officially concluded in November of the same year.

Ballerini stated that her separation from Evans caused a stir among conservative individuals, leading to negative reactions. She shared her feeling of fear when receiving social media messages suggesting that she hadn't put enough effort into salvaging her marriage.

"I've spent a significant portion of my life trying to mold myself to fit everyone's expectations. I used to believe that this made me a good woman and a good artist. However, I now realize that it doesn't necessarily make me a good person," Ballerini admitted. "What truly matters to me is being able to sleep peacefully at night, knowing that I am staying true to myself, my beliefs, and the passion that drives me. I have come to accept that I am not meant to please everyone."

Despite acknowledging that she struggles with handling intense negativity due to her desire to please others, the singer of "Half of My Hometown" expressed that she is currently enjoying a newfound sense of peace and tranquility. Following her breakup, Ballerini released her EP titled Rolling Up the Welcome Mat in February, where she openly discussed the challenges she faced in her relationship with Evans. This record received significant acclaim, and alongside her new relationship with Chase Stokes, whom she has been dating since January, it proved to be an eventful conclusion to her twenties.

"In your 20s, it's a time for self-discovery, making mistakes, giving your best, achieving some things, and failing in others," Ballerini expressed. "And I embraced all of it. I went through all of that and I stand by my journey. I had the opportunity to do so much in my 20s - to travel the world like I have, to have meaningful experiences with incredible people. I truly appreciate it all, but I also feel incredibly content."

Last month, during the MTV Video Music Awards, the Grammy nominee celebrated her 30th birthday. Following her remarkable performance of "Penthouse," Ballerini opted to skip the event and instead spend quality time with her loved ones.

"I departed quite early. I had a delightful dinner in the company of my mother and friends," she fondly remembered. "It genuinely feels as if my entire twenties have been fully lived and experienced. I am now prepared to embrace adulthood. Such maturity greatly appeals to me."
