Keith Urban gave an electrifying performance at the 2024 CMT Music Awards on Sunday, April 7. The 56-year-old country singer belted out his hit song "Straight Line" during the show held at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
Emma Roberts introduced the performance, expressing her admiration for the next performer and his wife, Nicole Kidman. She highlighted that every time he performs at the CMT Music Awards, it's always an unforgettable experience.
Although Urban did not receive any nominations this year, he has previously won nine CMT awards out of 30 nominations in his career. This includes three wins for Video of the Year and two wins for Male Video of the Year.
Urban went to the awards show by himself, but he took the opportunity on the red carpet to talk about his relationship with Kidman, who is also 56 years old. When E! News asked him about the secret to a 17-year marriage, he said, “I don't have any advice to give. If I say something, it might sound like advice for other married people.”
He added, “Everyone is different, so you have to figure out what works for you. We're still figuring it out ourselves. What works for us might not work for someone else. There's no one formula for success in a relationship.”

Keith expressed his interest in collaborating with Kidman, mentioning that they often sing together at home and thinking, "Why not?"
Since Urban and Kidman got married in June 2006, they have attended various awards shows together, accompanied by their daughters Sunday, 15, and Faith, 13. Kidman has become a familiar face at country music ceremonies, despite her known red carpet style. However, she admitted this year that she prefers staying in over attending glamorous events associated with her fame.
"It feels surreal sometimes," she shared with Elle in March. "I just want to go home, change into my pajamas, and relax. It's like the opposite of Cinderella - I'm happy to return home and just be myself."
Kidman mentioned that she feels more comfortable outside of the spotlight. "It can be a bit overwhelming," she said. "I just want to go home. I'm exhausted and craving warmth. I want to cozy up and feel normal."
Kidman shared that she finds it easier to connect with her authentic self when she is surrounded by her family and friends, rather than attending high-profile industry events. She emphasized the importance of her relationships with loved ones, highlighting her roles as a mother, wife, best friend, sister, and aunt. For her, the true meaning of life lies in nurturing these intimate connections and ensuring that we leave behind a legacy of love, respect, and care for those we hold dear.
During a January 2022 interview on CBS Mornings, Kidman expressed her admiration for Urban, calling him "the best thing that's ever happened" to her. She mentioned that they are very compatible and she feels incredibly fortunate to have met him.
In a December 2021 episode of "Living & Learning With Reba McEntire," Urban shared that his greatest accomplishment in life was marrying the right person for the right reasons.
