Katie Couric, the 67-year-old journalist, shared the exciting news on Instagram that her daughter Ellie Monahan and husband Mark Dobrosky welcomed their first child. The baby boy, named John Albert Dobrosky, arrived on his due date of Saturday, March 23rd at 8:23 am, weighing just under seven pounds. In a post on Sunday, March 24, Couric revealed that they will call him Jay in tribute to his maternal grandfather and Albert in honor of Mark's paternal grandfather.

Couric expressed her excitement about Monahan and Dobrosky becoming parents, stating that they are thrilled about welcoming their first grandchild. Monahan, 32, and Dobrosky are overjoyed, with Carrie looking forward to being a cool Aunt and Molner enjoying handing out cigars.
