Princess Kate Middleton's uncle, Gary Goldsmith, has recently become a part of the U.K.'s Celebrity Big Brother show. The 58-year-old was officially announced as one of the cast members on the reality series during its season premiere on Monday, March 4th. He is the younger brother of Kate's mother, Carole Middleton.

"I'm Gary Goldsmith, uncle to Catherine Middleton, our future queen and the current Princess of Wales," he shared in a video. "She's just amazing."

He went on to say, "When I first met William, Catherine was in the kitchen cooking. William greeted me with a simple 'Hi, would you like a cup of tea?' It was so natural."

Goldsmith admitted that he is known as a "bad boy" and mentioned that he enjoys teasing people. He added that he is full of mischief and excitement, making him a difficult person to live with. This may explain why he has had four wives.

Gary was there for Kate's wedding to William in 2011, and he also witnessed Pippa Middleton marrying James Matthews in 2017.

Goldsmith is in the Celebrity Big Brother house with other celebrities like Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh, Nikita Kuzmin, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, and Colson Smith.

The casting announcement came out when Kate made a public appearance on Monday, March 4. This was her first appearance since she had abdominal surgery in December 2023.

Kate, who is 42 years old, was spotted in a car with her 69-year-old mother. She was wearing sunglasses and sitting in the passenger seat while they were driving near Windsor Castle.

The princess underwent surgery on January 17 and the Kensington Palace confirmed that it was successful. She is currently recovering at the London Clinic and is expected to stay for 10 to 14 days.

The palace mentioned that Kate will not be resuming her public duties until after Easter, which is on March 31st.

The Palace stated that the Princess of Wales is grateful for the attention this statement will receive. She hopes that the public will respect her decision to prioritize her children's well-being and keep her medical details private.

In closing, the statement mentioned that the Princess of Wales apologizes to everyone affected by the postponement of her upcoming events. She is eager to reschedule them as soon as she can.

William was spotted arriving alone at Wrexham AFC Stadium to join the St. David’s Day celebration on Friday, March 1. As he arrived, the Prince of Wales was asked about his wife's condition, but he chose not to respond and continued walking forward.
