Princess Kate Middleton is upset by rumors that she was involved in discussing her nephew Archie's skin tone before his May 2019 birth. An insider states that Kate was not involved and is disappointed that her name is being dragged into the situation unfairly.
This week, the Dutch edition of Omid Scobie's book Endgame was removed from shelves after it was reported to have revealed the names of British royal family members who allegedly questioned the potential darkness of Archie's skin. Archie, the 4-year-old son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, is also the younger brother of Lilibet, aged 2.
Piers Morgan, during the November 29th episode of his TV show, claimed that in the Dutch version, the individuals identified as making racist remarks about Archie were King Charles III and Kate, aged 41. Additionally, Morgan, 58, expressed his personal disbelief in the existence of any racist comments made by the royal family members.
Scobie denies ever including the names in Endgame and stated during an interview that he never submitted a book with those names in it. He expressed frustration about the controversy. Although the English translation of Endgame had no names, an insider revealed that Kate is unhappy that her name was linked to the controversy, and this has not been helpful for her relationship with Meghan.
"This has marked the end of any potential reconciliation with Meghan as far as Kate is concerned," the source reveals. "She has reached her limit with Meghan’s behavior and has no interest in maintaining any relationship with her. There will be no reconciliation."

During their March 2021 interview with CBS, Meghan, 42, and Harry, 39, initially brought up the alleged comments about Archie's skin color. This interview took place a year after their final official appearance as senior working royals.
"I won't be sharing that conversation, it was awkward and surprising at the time," Harry said, adding that his late grandparents Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were not the ones behind the remarks. Kate and Prince William have not commented on the book or Morgan's remarks since the release of Endgame earlier this week. At an event on Thursday, they chose not to respond to questions about the book and the comments.

In March 2021, William took a different stance, informing reporters at an event that "we are definitely not a racist family."
After the CBS interview, the palace issued a statement. "The entire family is saddened to hear the extent of Harry and Meghan's difficulties in the past few years. The issues brought up, especially regarding race, are troubling," the statement read. "While there may be differing recollections, they are being taken seriously and will be discussed privately within the family. Harry, Meghan, and Archie will always be cherished members of the family."
